The Great Soyset is a well-known example of Soyphobia.

Soyphobia, also known as Shartyphobia, is the irrational fear of, hostility towards, or hatred of soyjaks, soy culture, soyposters, or soyjak.party.

Soyphobia can manifest in many forms, including banning or dilating against soyposters, wordfiltering soyspeak, referring to soyjaks as wojaks or "wojacks", and assuming the Sharty is 4chan.

History[edit | edit source]

Soyphobia is regarded by many soyentists as having originated on 4chan in early 2018, when 4chan jannies began persecuting soyposters under the belief that soyposting was little more than "low effort spam" intended to derail and deter actual discussion. In April of 2018, 4chan later wordfiltered the word "soy" to "onions" and "based" when two letters were written after "soy"[1][a]. The filter applied to all boards except /ck/ [b] and /int/.[c] For several years afterward, soyposters were frequently subjected to hostility and death threats from regular 4chan users, along with constant bans. The 4chan moderation team’s hatred of soyjaks eventually culminated into the Great Soyset, which lead to hundreds of ‘jakkers being expelled from their beloved board, and searching for new places to take refuge.

Soyphobes also commonly use the phrase "Kicked out of 109 threads but it wasnt their fault" to portray soyteens negatively, even though this has been debunked and they were BTFO'd.

How to help stop soyphobia[edit | edit source]

Just ban them, kill them, exterminate them all. No tolerance for those who disrespect our funny bald men with glasses drawings.

Notes

  1. e.g., "Soy jak" would become "onions jak", but "Soyjak" would become "basedjak".
  2. Obviously you wouldnt want to mix up "soy" and "onions" on a cooking board.
  3. This was because "soy" is a very common word in Spanish, meaning "I’m". Wordfiltering this on /int/ would cause confusion in spanish-speaking threads.
