Lionel Messi is an Argentine football (soccer if you're a mutt) player who is widely considered to be one of the greatest football players of all time. In fact, he is usually though to be the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) of the sport, although certain individuals will try and tell you that Ronaldo or Neymar hold the spot instead. He is also known for his camaraderie with Benjamin Netanyahu and his outspoken support of the state of Israel.
Messi was born on June 24, 1987, in the Santa Fe province of Argentina. From a very young age, he displayed a great aptitude for football; however, he was so much of a manlet that he actually had to get HRT to become taller 
(to this day, he is only about 5'6). He began his professional career in Barcelona in 2004, and would lead his team to achieve an unprecedented number of trophies in a short amount of time. He would continue playing for them until 2021, when he transferred to Paris Saint-Germain (and then, two years later, transferred again to Major League Soccer). At the international level, Messi has also been a fixture of Argentina's national team in both the Olympics and the Fifa World Cup: they won the former in 2008 and the latter in 2022 with Messi playing. Despite being 39 years old, he is tied with Kylian Mbappe for having scored the most goals (8) in the 2026 World Cup.
