infobox rework
hey, sheriff. as you may have seen, i reworked some infoboxes (not all of them because some will be replaced) so they can match the monobook style, you can see all of them here. "what's wrong with the current infoboxes?" - you may ask - there's more than a couple things that makes them bad:
- they don't fit monobook's style - no borders, bad coloration, and overall too simple. since you can't change the skin while logged out, the average 'teen browsing the 'ki sticks to the default skin: monobook. the current infoboxes fit timeless/cosmos/whatever else more rather than monobook;
- takes too much space - check out Geraldo Alckmin and Javier Milei, for example. a parameter takes 2 lines and the images are always too big, making the infobox feel bigger compared with the article itself and creating a gap between the text and the footer;
- made on visual editor - we don't need an awful, effortless miraheze resource here. angeleno refused to add this before for a reason.
my infoboxes aren't that great of course, they have their own flaws, but they're not bad either! here's some good things about them:
- my infobox site has the website's favicon at the top header, so you don't need to use <gallery> for multiple images. they also provide extra info like the CMS (website's source code) and the web host (e.g. cloudflare);
- i made a single infobox for both officeholders and normal people, instead of having two separate ones ({{Infobox officeholder}}, {{infobox person}});
- {{infobox organization}} can be stylized to fit CIA and FBI;
- my infobox on countries has extra info aswell: they got new parameters like UTC, area, coat of arms, motto, anthem, country (if the subject is a province/city), you call it;
- i made {{infobox raid}} because including all doxed people just make a infobox wall on your screen's right side. they can be used for 'causts and purges as well;
- {{infobox media}} can be used for songs, books, series and movies all at once.
now here's the bad things about it:
- certain parameters don't have the same names;
- i couldn't add a gallery for {{infobox person test}} and {{infobox variant}}, so your page for example will have to exclude the avatar;
- {{infobox war test}} is thinner and i didn't tested {{collapse top}} on it, but that can be changed if someone helps;
- you gonna have to give me temporary perms to replace the templates' contents.

- all of your complaints are stuff that can be fixed by easily editing the infobox css in monobook.css (or in commons.css) while introducing big flaws like not supporting galleries, also parameters and headers being stacked is on purpose so that long text doesn't wrap on mobile, but it can be easily reverted by removing layout="stacked" from the infobox text, your rewrite isn't even a rewrite but more like a revert cause our old infoboxes used the module like your's but i got rid of it cause of its flaws, meanwhile your "pros" are just stuff we can easily implement to our current infoboxes like an extra parameter or a new infobox, finally, you can't make infoboxes on the fly using Special:InfoboxBuilder anymore if fenriris agrees to your rewrite Cobblestone (talk) 09:54, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

new page quality header idea
hello, I've made a mockup template for a new page quality header at User:Neptune/Sandbox. The "fossil" category would be for pages that, while objectively low-quality, have been on the wiki for years and are essentially a historical relic (created 2023 or earlier.
