Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny, sometimes abbreviated as MIBU, is the absolute epitome of SNCA, despite being a very long-lasting meme for the time. It developed at basically the same time as the soysphere, but the communities of the two never actually interacted at all. This is because the average MIBU fan was probably around 5.

Origin and Extension

The first ever template came from some AI-generated images of the Mr. Incredible characters. There were two images for each, and one was more “uncanny” than the other, which somehow stuck as the meme’s name. Then, someone made a meme with “the copy the teacher gave you” where he was all black and white, and this was put as a third after the original two. This was used in contrast with the normal phase for “those who know” memes. Soon enough, there were 18 phases with audio, going from normal to unimaginable terror. While that kept getting extended, someone else created another version called “Mr. Incredible Becoming Ascended”, nicknamed “Canny” for oppositefagging. It started with the original uncanny phase, then the normal phase, and eventually ascended into a god that looked like a computer mouse for some reason.

This obviously wasn’t enough, so they added fractional phases (such as 2.5 and 11.5) and different progressions (Idiot to Genius, Young to Old, Skinny to Fat). Then they made it so instead of Mr. Incredible it was Rick Astley, Eggman, Trollge, etc. There was so much more autism in the community that I won’t bother to write right now, but since I’m also autistic, I wrote a big essay about this a few years ago, and I’ll paste a few things from there.

The whole thing has gotten so out of hand that most of the commonly accepted Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny images themselves are characters which themselves become uncanny. There is no purpose to these except for “you feel this amount of uncanny” videos. These are formatted in the following way. Each uncanny phase reacts to phases uncannier than it. These uncanny phases have accepted their uncanniness as normal. Thus, they are canny when a phase is less uncanny than them and uncanny when a phase is uncannier than them. These videos have increasingly more or less uncanny stages. As he reacts to the stages, he becomes increasingly canny or uncanny based on how canny or uncanny it already is. The concept has also been flipped on its head with canny phases becoming cannier in a similar fashion, as well as canny phases becoming less canny. Also, sometimes uncanny stages becoming less uncanny eventually ascend into canniness and vice versa.
