Retroslop, also known as "nostalgiabait" is a subgenre of troonslop which includes pieces of media that pretends to be created in a certain past decade, (usually ranging from the 90s-2000s on indie videogames, although some examples coming from Roblox, Minecraft and YouTube go up to the 2010s) despite being made in Year.now().getValue() and having NONE of the substance, usually being very inaccurate, and in the worst cases, a bastardized representation of the decade it attempts to portray, because people who make and consume it only care about the artistic value of le aesthetics and would most likely find the original media boring or even h*ckin big*ted.

The term gained popularity on the platform Roblox, due to several games being hosted on there gaining the label of "retroslop". It is often criticized by the fact that it's usually a lazy form of media development, as creators usually just make shitty low poly models/textures and then subsequently slap the label of "retro" onto their "art". Its mostly enjoyed by autistic trannies who weren't even born around the time this "aesthetic" was originally made, commonly late millennial manchildren who got bullied for disliking le modern thing or their early Gen Alpha grooming victims who are suffering the same, hence why the term is so associated with toddlerslop media such as Roblox or TikTok trends.

Protip: Anything that needs to be described as "retro" isn't retro in the first place.
