Will the old grading/mineral rating system ever come back?[edit | edit source]

Also will any templates get overwritten by their SECApedia counterparts? Some of them looked nicer tbh TeeNDee (talk)

>Will the old grading/mineral rating system ever come back?
I want this but it's very controversial. So probably never, and if yes then not for a while.
>Also will any templates get overwritten by their SECApedia counterparts? Some of them looked nicer tbh
Working on it. Soyoyuki (talk) 19:42, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
Removing the grading system has significantly reduced edit wars and improved page neutrality. I don't think it should be brought back. –Gem 💎 (talk) 19:44, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
On SECApedia my solution was to only put topic ratings on pages where the opinion is unanimous or extremely popular. Soyoyuki (talk) 19:47, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
I like them because they're SOVLFVL, i don't think they add much to a page itself, but when you boil everything down to formalityfagging then the entire concept of a "Soyjak Wiki" is retarded and we should SHUDDIT ALL DOWN! or something Soyoyuki (talk) 19:49, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
I get you, but there's not much to lose from removing them in compromise for ending all retarded edit wars. –Gem 💎 (talk) 19:49, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
I think we should keep Gradingboxes because saying something is mostly regarded as its rating is more objective than saying something is its rating. If we switch back to the old grading system we should keep the rules from Gradingboxes (no edit warring, must have a reception section). And we also shouldn't have a million different ratings like "vantagray iron from the lukewarm surface of mulattopurgatorium" or "extremely unstable singularity formed in a black hole that dooms the entire soyverse." Just gemerald, gem, ruby, iron, dust, coal, and brimstone like with Gradingboxes. Maybe also a few janny-locked ratings for extremes like "antimatter" or "gem that saved the party." Soyfield (Talk PageContributionsEmail) 20:21, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
I like the 5109234809128301283 niggerillion niche ratings thoughie. Soyoyuki (talk) 20:37, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
I'd recommend holding a vote with the rest of the Tetrarchy regarding what to do about the grading system then. On a somewhat similar note, I wouldn't mind allowing custom ratings in Gradingboxes if there's also a rule saying they can only be used as part of a page's gimmick. Like the box on the HTSM page could say "fuggen jerdee" for example. Soyfield (Talk PageContributionsEmail) 20:44, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
>I'd recommend holding a vote with the rest of the Tetrarchy regarding what to do about the grading system then
eeehhhhh i can probably guess what they'd all say. Soyoyuki (talk) 20:59, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
I support the idea of limiting custom ratings to gimmick pages (though for categorization they should have the closest standard rating applicable). I disagree with the janny-locked ratings because I feel their criteria would be too objective to really fit into the gradingbox system.
1. If something is really bad enough to be considered antimatter there's probably enough objectively bad things about it to not really count as a subjective grading like the other gradingboxes, plus if something genuinely warrants it then individual/hivemind opinions on the subject aren't necessary/pertinent to the article anymore.
2. Likewise, "gem that saved the party" would be too objective to count as a grading either, because by definition a gem that saved the party is something that measurably brought significant positive activity to the sharty, or did something to keep it alive. It'll already be prevented from just being a hyperbolic version of Gemerald by the suggestion to lock its addition to jannies only.
I think it'll be fine with just 7 gradings total (iron for neutral topics, ruby/gem/gemerald for liked topics, and dust/coal/brimstone for disliked topics) GauntletThrown (clittyleakage zone) 22:50, 17 August 2026 (UTC)

Here is my rules mockup --> User:Soyoyuki/RulesMockup[edit | edit source]

I'll write some things out here:

  • I took inspiration from the Sharty's ruleset, aswell as SECApedia's, when it comes to the (C) rules and some of the (G) rules.
  • I removed any and all use-case examples and duration examples, since even though it was probably written with a good heart, all it does is tell people: >HEY, YOU CAN DO THIS AND THIS AND ONLY GET A 1 DAY BAN! It's not like joons cross-reference it for bans anyway. This also helped remove a bunch of WORDSWORDSWORDS, and with how much people don't want to read the rules of any site, and especially a soysphere one, it's best to keep rules as short as possible.
  • I also changed the formatting to be less weird.

I'm not exactly sure about the community rules THOUGHIE. Thoughts? @Gem @Statis @G-Man Soyoyuki (talk) 23:04, 17 August 2026 (UTC)

@Administrat0r dnb read this aswell Soyoyuki (talk) 23:06, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
Eh, the current ruleset is more well-written. I would rather adjust it a bit than re-write it from scratch. I'm also not a fan of writing which communities are OK in the ruleset, it should be a specialized policy instead. –Gem 💎 (talk) 23:13, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
Could you rate the rules themselves though? Someone can add all of the examples and durations in a subpage later. Soyoyuki (talk) 23:49, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
I'll remove the list of communities. Soyoyuki (talk) 23:22, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
Actually, it may make sense to remove the duration examples from rules page, and move it elsewhere for jannies to reference it. –Gem 💎 (talk) 23:17, 17 August 2026 (UTC)

>G5 With G4.1 G4.2 >edit warring deleted >G-10 and M-2 are the same thing >users who are underage may be banned

Rickert (talk) 23:59, 17 August 2026 (UTC)

I removed G-10 and fixed G5 kek. as for the others you misread G-8.1 and edit warring falls under G-6. Soyoyuki (talk) 00:03, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
I'll give some constructive feedback in the discussion page in a moment Rickert (talk) 00:04, 18 August 2026 (UTC)

My appology about going around and harassing salt. My concerns[edit | edit source]

Hello teens. I would like to apologize to you guys and @User:Administrat0r for going around in circles and constantly spamming him with questions I had, especially to the mods who had to watch me repeatedly bring this stuff up. I am genuinely sorry about that.

I understand that he is probably really busy with IRL and other stuff and, as a result, can't respond much and might miss messages or emails. The reason I kept asking so many questions was because I was concerned about what was happening when I heard the news and became anxious when nobody seemed to know why he wasn't responding. I started worrying that he might have lost interest in the wiki entirely, and I didn't really know what we were supposed to do if that happened leaving everything to rot. I thought it would be a good idea to bring up my concerns and why I been acting that way for transparency

The wiki should, after all, be capable of functioning mostly by itself. I understand why all of the high-level permissions were taken away from everyone else following the security incident, and in the immediate aftermath I think being cautious made sense. My concern is more about the long term. Right now, Administrat0r is the only person with those permissions, meaning that if he is busy, disappears, or simply loses interest, there are certain things that none of the remaining staff can do regardless of how much we agree on them. We can't even appoint another bureaucrat ourselves because none of us have the permission required to do that

I also don't think the only two choices have to be either keeping all of those permissions on one account forever or risking another security incident by handing them out freely. I think we can make privileged accounts significantly safer first. One idea I already brought up was requiring 2FA for bureaucrats and other accounts with particularly sensitive permissions, along with requiring strong, unique passwords. While also advoiding @soyjak.st addresses as the sole recovery method for privileged accounts and instead use independent, secured recovery emails. I even suggested a way to preform a lockdown that mods can toggle just in case something like this happens again. That way, when bureaucrat and interface-admin are eventually delegated again, we're addressing the reason those permissions were restricted in the first place instead of simply going back to how things were before.

I'm not trying to rush Administrat0r into handing out permissions immediately, and I'm definitely not saying that a few days of inactivity means he has abandoned the place. I mostly want us to know what the long-term plan actually is so the wiki isn't dependent indefinitely on one person being online, espeically since he is hard to get into contact with.

Once he returns, I think the most important questions to resolve are:

  • When does he intend to delegate bureaucrat again?
  • Who does he intend to give it to? Will there be multiple bureaucrats?
  • Does he still want Cobblestone to return to staff and potentially administration?
  • If Fenriris remains active, what role does he want Fenriris to have?
  • Who should hold interface-admin for technical maintenance?
  • What additional security requirements should apply to privileged accounts? In particular, could we require 2FA, stronger passwords, and independent recovery emails?
  • Are there any plans for a developer? If so, who? How should staff request new features or technical changes? If he is looking for someone, I wouldn't mind doing it myself since I already have a lot of experience with PHP and have worked on quite alot for the wiki already through my bot.
  • I saw that a lot of the staff and teens are having trouble to get into contact with him, myself included so will he be willing to open up some kind of quick contact method for all of the joons? In case of emerginces?
  • What about my wiki bot? Does he want me to continue operating and developing it? If I remain responsible for it, what permissions does he want the bot to have, and who should I coordinate with if a new feature requires changes beyond what the bot account can do?

More than anything, what bothers me is being left in the dark. When I don't know what's happening or what the plan is, I have a tendency to keep thinking about every possible outcome and repeatedly ask questions trying to figure it out. I realize that doing that doesn't actually help and just annoy everyone else, which is why I'm apologizing for it.

I'm going to stop constantly asking Administrat0r the same questions and give him time to respond when he's available. I just hope that when he does return, we can get some clarification on these things and establish a structure where the wiki can continue functioning even when any one person is unavailable.

Oh, and Salt when you get this I would be Aryan it if you cound answer these questions on behalf of the teens. I think they are curious as well and have most of the same concerns. Thanks for your understanding guys Fenriris 🐺 00:05, 18 August 2026 (UTC)

>* When does he intend to delegate bureaucrat again? >* Who does he intend to give it to? Will there be multiple bureaucrats? >* Does he still want Cobblestone to return to staff and potentially administration? >* If Fenriris remains active, what role does he want Fenriris to have? >* Who should hold interface-admin for technical maintenance? >* What additional security requirements should apply to privileged accounts? In particular, could we require 2FA, stronger passwords, and independent recovery emails? >* Are there any plans for a developer? If so, who? How should staff request new features or technical changes? If he is looking for someone, I wouldn't mind doing it myself since I already have a lot of experience with PHP and have worked on quite alot for the wiki already through my bot. >* I saw that a lot of the staff and teens are having trouble to get into contact with him, myself included so will he be willing to open up some kind of quick contact method for all of the joons? I give up. I've messaged the new owner multiple times through different ways, and even other staff have tried getting in contact with him, but we can barely get a response. If he's this unresponsive even to simple server modification requests or stuff needing bureaucrat attention sent by email, then I honestly don't think there is much of a future for this site. we need to be able to change the sites settings in case anything cool comes up. Might as well just let it rot at that point.
Especially with all the plans I had to add a bunch of cool new technical stuff to the wiki, there's only so much I can do when nobody can reliably get server-side changes made or handle things that require bureaucrat permissions in the first place. At this point, I think I was right to leave the first time. I really do care about this place, but I don't see the point in continuing to put this much effort into running and developing it when I can't actually move any of my plans forward. I dont hate Salt, but it's just tiring. I have gave control over my bots to @User:GapeNewell so ask him if any issues come up with them.
Im really sorry guys that I was not able to work it, ily all <3. I wish you mods the best of luck keeping the place going. Proposed unbanning/restoration/revamp of a few articles[edit | edit source]

@G-Man @Statis @Soyoyuki @Gem

Because Salt wants to unrulecuck the wiki, I'm proposing unbanning/restoring a few articles, some of which include:

  • Futa/Futanari - this fetish probably helped create the tranny epidemic. No images depicting it should be allowed because Soyjak Wiki is not Rule 34.
  • Foodist - basically soyspeak by now so we should have a proper article on them again
  • Afterparty (Discord server) - one of the biggest sharty boogeymen in 2024. Long dead and some members were fedded
  • bu5t/Soyjak Colony - same reason as Afterparty
  • Skibidi Farms - nuked from orbit; some splinters/revivals pop up here and then but they rarely last longer than 2 weeks.
  • Gnarpedia (AKA NoLimitsPedia) - SF's official wiki, one of its creators was a sharty janny so it's somewhat sharty-relevant
  • Blue Archive - this lolinigger game can benefit from having a negative article. Anyone who tries to make the article positive should be 'nished for promoting pedophilia.

I also propose a revamp to the failtroll article, splitting off some of the sections into separate articles. I am indirectly responsible for this change, but I never expected every single entity that could be considered to be a failtroll to be merged into a single article. Plus it's bloat.

Articles about TCCfoid shit, that Australian pedophile and three-letter LARP groups should still be banned to avoid attracting feds. GapeNewell (talk) 23:49, 18 August 2026 (UTC)

Custom Gradingbox ratings[edit | edit source]

What does everyone think of my idea to allow custom ratings in Gradingboxes but only if they're used as part of a page's gimmick? Template talk:Gradingbox#Custom ratings proposal Soyfield (Talk PageContributionsEmail) 03:42, 19 August 2026 (UTC)

I disagree as it undermines the whole point of gradingboxes (which is to show a neutral perspective on the overwhelming majority's opinions). Custom ratings belong in headers, not here. –Gem 💎 (talk) 03:44, 19 August 2026 (UTC)
This. If custom ratings are really, really necessary for gimmick pages, then they should be clearly derived from a base rating (with appropriate categorization). Otherwise most of the custom ratings will just be confusing/redundant. GauntletThrown (clittyleakage zone) 04:08, 19 August 2026 (UTC)

Yeah I think that sounds good --JakJalopy 🚗 (talk) 11:06, 21 August 2026 (UTC)
I propose the following De-quotification measures then:
  • Merging Quote's detractor perspective with the neutral one, although obviously making it more complete, just like the LimeAIDS one
  • Doing the same for Mustard
  • Allowing articles made on widely hated namefags (if banned splinters are allowed to be mentioned now, I dont think people would die from this)
  • (I HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT THIS, BUT SOME NUSOIS ARE STILL DRAGGING IT), return the page quality headers instead of gradingboxes, I honestly dont agree, but since antimatter text returned, you could see a trend shifting against Stonist policies
  • (I doubt this one as well) Allow articles on the 2025 "highschool" incident and the 2026 "mosque incident", some people were asking but I dont think its worth mentioning them
TheCatalan1977 (talk) 13:24, 21 August 2026 (UTC)

Additionally i'd add dark-red for a nu "sysadmin" role which is the same as admin/bureaucrat except they have ssh access (which obviously isnt relayed in mediawiki user groups in any way but its SECA info) Soyoyuki (talk) 17:52, 21 August 2026 (UTC)
