template redundancy

I'd say there's some difference between them in that GoodDeadMeme doesn't discriminate between organically shit and forced shit memes and with Deadforcedmeme not discriminating based on quality, but their differences aren't significant enough to warrant entirely separate templates. The site was definitely different back then, the content was even more offensive and immoral. help with a template

hello nuladies. i had this idea of replacing template:treif, template:halal and template:haram for a brand new header. why? well, two three four reasons:

• we already have 4 templates (1 text header and 2 soyboxes, 3 if you count treif because of the palestinian flag) dedicated to islam/muslims;
• if you think about it, jews approve what muslims don't and vice-versa. like template:swedishwin and template:norwegianwin, it's only a swedish win if the norwegian lose (in this case, it's a muslim win if the jewish lose);
• halal and haram are ugly and terribly designed, it looks like something straight from ED;
• they're being overused/spammed like template:god, treif and haram are only useful to rape user pages.

now why would i need your help? well...

• i imported some fonts, one of them is for this new header. however, cobblestone wont check her user talk page, therefore not adding it. i want you to convince her to add them;
• i don't know how to design it. i don't know what flag should be used in the background, so i need ideas.

Still think it is an good idea to replace articles that need help with it, but one of the issues I have with it is security. If added that would mean anyone can add anything to the main page using the black board potionally allowing for users to add bad content there. I dont have an issue with it, but I would still at least like an bit of security built in. Any ideas? Nu policy for wiki bots

I been thinking of making an official policy for wiki bots, after all we do have an couple of those now and it would be an offical thing I would like to allow. Especially how with one bot that I wont name has been bugging out an couple of times. It should also keep official bots like mine honest. What do you soyteens think? Wanted to run this by before I actually implimeted in case anyone has an few issues or suggestions with it

In order for a bot to be approved, its operator should demonstrate that it:

1. Is harmless
2. Is useful
3. Does not consume site resources unnecessarily
4. Must only preform tasks where there is an consensus
5. Must adhere to all rules and polices
6. The bot must be open source in some way to review it's code to ensure it is not doing anything secretly or malicious
7. When using it to connect to another official soysphere site, you must permission from that sites admin first before doing so
8. If all checks out above, an mod or above can approve the bot for use on the 'ki

Hello,

I believe around anywhere betweeen ~30% to 50% of content has been restored (rough estimate). I have a total of 409 files saved, and if I went looking I probably will find more hidden in the cache (as you know I use Tor, but I also browse the wiki on my other browser so there should be more there). I have not uploaded any non-image files because I gave priority to saving everything ASAP and restoring images first. I will also upload them soon. All images are 1:1 in quality, so there's no degradation. Total folder size is 701 mb and I won't bore you with more snca. I'll write on how others can do the same thing (with a far better and improved method than what I used as a crutch) later. Thanks Rickert (talk) 15:30, 7 August 2026 (UTC)

to elaborate a bit more, because Tor (my browser) does not have a cache enabled, all the files I restored were recovered from the server. Because the server is unstable, thats why I gave priority to downloading everything asap. I do not have a single kilobyte of cached content on this browser the way it works. Fortunately, the restoration will be easy since >90% of editors have a cache, and so regulars who have visited a lot of pages, without realizing, have kind of archived some content. If you have been active on the 'Ki between June 8 and August 5, please do not wipe your browser cache, you very likely have some content saved most likely that you can restore, if you are willing to give it time (if you have the original files, thats obviously the best, cached files may not be 1:1 in quality). about:cache will give you a rough estimate of how big your cache is on firefox (you can easily find the Wiki there), if you use chrome idk google what it is. Custom user name colors

I would like to start giving out custom username colors (or something similar) as a reward to users who have done something truly extraordinary for the wiki, such as creating the 'ki bot or the image recovery work done by @User:Rickert. The idea would be to reserve this only for exceptional contributions so that it remains something genuinely special to earn and does not become too crazy with name requests. After all, I cant just make anyone staff too

To keep staff easily identifiable, administrators, moderators, and other staff members would not be eligible for custom colors

Make a SW: namespace similar to Wikipedia's WP: shortcut namespace

For instance linking SW:FONTSPAM would give you a redirect to Soyjak Wiki:Text styling overdose. Check out wikipedia:WP:SC for a full explanation, the TL;DR is that it's for shorthand redirects to pages (or sections) on wiki policy worth commonly linking to, without taking up much space in the editor. It's also more convenient than typing out Soyjak Wiki:Wiki Policy Page Nophono Cares Fan About.

The Wikipedia Manual of Style page is similar and has superiority over its atomized subpages (i.e., if the atomic page contradicts it, main page should be followed) so it won't cause trouble. SW and MOS namespace

Dear fellow African-American editors, give me your thoughts on this idea. The templates have been set up so if you guys want to, I can slowly move it all out of my sandbox and work on it over time. If more people want to collaboate, a project page (talk page) may be necessary.
Guidelines and policies are the result of consensus so I can't just write all this on my own and leave it in mainspace as that's not a good idea for obvious reasons. Rules and MoS are more straightforward but we need input to have a good system. Rickert (talk) 19:31, 10 August 2026 (UTC)
