Shrekchan was the Internet's first and largest Shrek-themed imageboard. During its time up was a place where fans, or brogres, gathered to talk about Shrek porn. It started first as a community website with its own jokes and a relatively small user base, then after a while it gained notice for its obscure pages and interest in shrek. As time went on, the Shrek is Love, Shrek is life meme spread beyond Shrekchan and the website started to decay. After cleanup and a decrease in use, the website started back into a small community, but due to outsiders, spam, and bad jokes, the site was shutdown. Soon after, Pigchan was born, but it later went down in late 2016. ShrekChan was created by shrekman420.

Shrekchan was unfortunately shut down, due to the Shrek meme becoming popular enough to cause the the people at "Know Le Meme" and Reddit to start spamming overused Shrek jokes and killing the Shrek meme. At the end of ShrekChan's reign, there was an overflow of memes, and the brogers who fought them off had already left ages ago. But the admin would not let his friends down, for he has created a brand new imageboard, which will hopefully steer away from rampant memefaggotry.

A sharty board was made for shrek fans at some point in 2025.

ShrekSpeak

• Brogre - Bro + ogre, fan of Shrek. Similar to "Brony".
• Ogirl - Ogre + girl, female fan of Shrek.
• Shreksual encounters - Sex.
• Shrekking off - To masturbate, usually over Shrek.
• Eshrekulate - To ejaculate
• Farquaad - Troll. So named for Shrek's enemy, the diminutive Lord Farquaad.
• Green-ray - The favored format of ShrekChan posters on which to watch Shrek.
• Swamp - The area where one lives.
• Dreck - Means "Dirt" in German. Something Shrek most definitely is not and, if you think so, it's all ogre fer you, laddie.

Rules

The only rules of ShrekChan are as follows:

• "Have fun"
• "Be safe"
• "This is a safe-for-work imageboard. Any adult content will be removed."

It is also implied that one should not post dreck content, though there isn't a formal rule for this.

Boards

There were multiple boards on ShrekChan. Some are accessible by everybody, while others are secret.

• /shr/ - The signature board of ShrekChan; it is for general discussion of the Shrek franchise, although general discussion of all types tends to happen in here as well.
• /hack/ - 1337 h4x0rz lurk this board; you can't get them, though, for they have Norton Antivirus!
• /social/ - A board for roleplaying, Original content, and tripfags to cause drama and shitpost. It is Shrekchans version of 4chans /b/.
• /site/ - The board for providing the people who run ShrekChan with suggestions; in other words, the Site Suggestions board
• /chat/ - A text board for brogres to talk about stuff.

Secret boards

• /420/ - ShrekSmoke is a board made just for drug users (especially those that smoke da swamp grass).
• /oink/ - A board for pork lovers, very similar to Pigchan's /pig/.
• /lounge/ - Everyone wants to get in, and only Shrek ## Admin ## and Bono know how to do so.

• /tv/ - Hacked/Obsolete Board. Shrekchans stream page, originally used for streaming the shrek movies. This page is infamous for being sketchy, such as playing strange clips, disturbing pictures, and other events. Due to copy right issues the website can no longer stream Shrek and eventually the front page link was removed. It was created by a streaming(justin.tv (NOW NAMED TWITCH) or mibbit.com) channel named, "shrekman420"or, [https://search.mibbit.com/networks/ShrekChan^{[IT'S OVER]} ShrekChan] the Chat, which is the Official channel for ShrekChan, but eventualy some might speculate that the channel, shrekman420 or ShrekChan was hacked, but if you search it now, the channel was deleted/wiped out, due to being hacked.

Former boards

• /int/ - Assumedly similar to 4chan's /int/ board, the board was removed late january 2013.
• /mu/ - Was never a real board, but had a countdown timer for something 4chan's /mu/ board beleived to be an illuminati conspiracy. This was removed later when 4chan freaked out. It was later brought back up as a music board, and then killed along with /v/.
• /x/ a board that linked you to a wonderful collection of images of pollandball
• /v/ - A board about the discussion of Shrek games and other vidya. /v/, along with /mu/, are now no longer boards and both take you to a spoopy page that reads "welcome to the afterlife!"
• /shart/ - A board for OC and a page where everyone can share their art
• /rp/ - A board that was for roleplaying, oc, and drama. /Social/ now takes its place.
• /mlg/ - Former variant of /420/
• /666/ - this is basically another variant of /tv/ but it never gotten added, due to being FORBIDDEN.
• /jesus/ - dancing jesus

Succeeding imageboards

PigChan

PigChan was the Internet's first pig-themed imageboard. Found in the ending of 2014 by admin, PigChan is the rebirth of the previous Imageboard Shrekchan. Pigchan is a friendly(ish) online community where Piglets and such come to talk. On Pigchan you can find memes and inside jokes, circlejerks and drama, spoopy stuff, discussions, and of course pigs!

Pigchan shut down in december 13th 2015 due to the same problem with Shrekchan. There were outsiders, bad jokes, spammers and even NSFW in PigChan, causing to shut it down and left dead.

Nushrekchan

Formerly the nusoity, Nushrekchan was a revival of Shrekchan made by chrek (also known as shreek or noot). It had a low PPD and several boards such as /shrek/, /mlg/, /shrol/ and several others as well as secret pages including the entire first Shrek movie. It was advertised on sites such as PixelPlanet, SWAbooru and the Swinny. It's a splinter from the gitty, meaning it's related to the swinny. Do not use. It had several other sites related to it, like a 'ki and its own shlog, but they are pretty dead and only have posts from chrek.
