ResetEra users are left-wing SJWs!

ResetEra (REE for short) is a gaming and politics forum slpintered from NeoGaf, a much older and more influential gaming forum. Despite REE being recognized by some gaming journos and members of the industry, it is pretty unknown to normies and the gaming community at-large, so in practice, ResetEra is a hugbox where redditors and trannies go to whine about "DA CHOOODS!!!" for not consuming goyslop from Triple A companies and pointing out that modern games are filled with fat negress sheboons.

History

As previously mentioned, Reset is a splinter of a gaming forum called NeoGaf, which was created in 1999 foremerly known as "The Gaming-Age Forums". NeoGaf was quite influential in the gaming community during the early 2000s, but decreased in popularity as the passage of the years during the 2010s, specially after GamerGate. In 2017, the then current owner of NeoGaf was accused of sexual harassment, causing a mass exodus of users, with several former members of the site uniting to create ResetEra on October 24, 2017. Naturally, this was long after the golden age of the internet forums, and by this point, anyone interested in gaming had already moved to discord, reddit or /v/, which means that in practice, ResetEra serves as an echochamber for all those who think the gaming community is too bigoted and entitled, so they can share their takes on videogames without having to interact with an average gamer. Neogaf was already known for left-wing bias and censorship, but Ree cranked that up to 11, with ridiculous levels of hugboxing and it is of a politics forum tangentially related to videogames.

Site culture

Ree is a community ground where trannies, cucktaku readers and r/gamingcirclejerk users congregate to offer mostly cookie-cutter and stale discussion about videogames themselves while spending all the rest of the time talking about politics and complaining about hecking bigoted and evil gamers are because of Gamergate trauma. Beyond the same recycled talking points from reddit, the average discourse on ResetEra is of contrarianism to anything the chuds say about gaming, which goes as far as some ree users defending the putrid state of modern gaming just because people that criticize it tend to be right-leaning. Examples include ResetEra fags saying how women shouldn't be sexualized in gaming, not because they are against gooning, but because braniggers on xitter complain about ugly female characters in videogames (coincidentally, ResetEra goys also don't seem to oppose sexualization of male characters and trannies in videogames, what are the odds!?). Expect some users to also run defence and shill for big game developers and how unfair it is for their devs to be called lazy or untalented just because the staff of most triple A studios now consists mostly of liberal middle aged women, trannies and pajeets. Ironically enough, whenever shitty modern titles end up flopping, you can also expect REE users to be the first to whine up about how it's the chud's fault for not buying it.

Despite being a supposedly gaming forum, ResetEra is hopelessly addicted to politics, the sites hosts discussion of all sorts of political topics and any actual gaming thread is just pretext for users to share their leftist saltyness, and any other thread that deviates from this norm will eventually devolve into such the longer it grows.

Purity spiraling and censorship

ResetEra has such power hungry and hypersensitive mods that it would make even your average reddit mod in blush in how blatantly biased they are. This is because REE has no clear standards for rules and jannies are just encouraged to do as they see fit, which of course means banning any form of dissent. If you have an opinion that the jannies personally dislike, you will get banned for "trolling", if you disagree with another member of the hivemind, you will get banned for "antagonising other users" and if you accuse someone of overreacting you are gonna be banned for "dimissing concerns". It is so bad, that not only are they gonna ban the chuds, but also ban people that share progressive/leftist views in case they show any sort of nuanced take or reach any different conclusion to the "approved opinion™" that the joons reach. Era also has a policy against "console wars" which in practice means that any criticism from Shitendo, Snoy and Hexbox might get you banned for inciting platform wars. On the Kiwi Farms thread about era, you will find mountains upon mountains of screenshots of people being banned for the most asnine of reasons possible, which all contributes to era being regarded nothing more than a sanitized hivemind hugbox for leftists that barely care about gaming to seethe that gamers aren't attending to their sensibilities.
