[VON STROHEIM] was a namefag who served as the third president of /dem/, succeeding Gold. He is named after the eponymous fictional character. He has yet to be seen since his impeachment.

Campaign

During his campaign, [VON STROHEIM] obtained the nomination of the newly-formed FUN Party, a "Big Tent" coalition. Despite much grassroot support, he wasn't considered to be a strong candidate, with many predicting the second round would be between 225, Former President Gold and Vice-President Trump. However he unexpectedly surpassed 225, and came 3rd in the first round; later, Front-Runner Donald Trump dropped out of the race due to personal matters, and endorsed [VON STROHEIM]. In the second round, he obtained 71 votes and became the 3rd president of /dem/.

Resignation

He silently resigned on March 3, 2025 after seeing he would almost certainly get impeached. Per the new constitution, an election to elect an ad interim president will now take hold. He would also accidently hand out janny permissions to falseflaggers.

Board management

Von Stroheim would often rely on the feedback of the board, creating lots of polls to create new rules, alter existing ones, ect. Unfortunately due to his absence, the same polls would stay up long past their due date and wouldn't really get implemented.

He would also have a tendency to permaban everyone, regardless of the rule broken. His absence from the board, and the crippling PPH that would usually average 0-1 posts per HOUR, putting it well behind other dead boards like /mtv/, and eventually caused the leadup to his eventual impeachment.
