Obsessive gigaquoting disorder (OGD) is a mental illness characterized by subjects, otherwise known as "giggers," feeling the intense need to gigaquote everything and anything, even in situations where the gigaquote would be soycially unacceptable or even get them banned. The patient may not necessarily agree with the sentiments they are gigaquoting but will still experience a sense of anxiety that is not resolved until the quote has been posted.

Sufferers of OGD may remove bad parts before gigaquoting to avoid getting admitted to a mental institution.[1]

OGD claims the lives of many soyteens every year, mainly due to forced suicide by Janny. A formal cure for OGD has not been developed as of yet, but Dr. Soyer has published a scientific paper that calls for this condition to be treated empirically as for schizophrenia.[2]

OGD has reached xitter.[3]

Example

The following example thread is how most OGD moments happen.

Stages

OGD has four stages, ranging in severity.

Stage 1

The subject gigaquotes normal constructs, and gigaquotes constructs that go against deviancy.

Stage 2

This is where the diagnosis of OGD become apparent. Gigapoopposting and other gigaquotes of bizarre things (i.e. >drinking fresh urine from your dad's toilet) are common in this stage. May or may not progress into the other stages. Progression into other stages is beginning to be slowed down by the threat of Gigaphobic jannies banning OGD sufferers.

Stage 3

In stage 3, OGD is easily diagnosed and begins to be terminal. This is where most of the OGD screenshots (You) see in the Gallery situate. Became rampant after the average ban length for pedophilic jokes got chopped down to three days during mod-Quote era, but is starting to be dealt with.

Stage 4

The rarest and final stage of OGD. Stage 4 OGD is incurable. In stage 4, not only are the gigaquotes pedophilic, but the gigas themselves are. At this point, the illness has become fully terminal and has progressed into the subject actually having paraphilias. If you see any post that might be posted by a sufferer of stage 4 OGD, please notify the Jannies immediately.

Possible cure

On December 7, 2025, a promising treatment for OGD was discovered in a /soy/ thread.[4] Further research efforts are still ongoing.

Due to OGD no longer being officially recognized by the Soysylum, all research into finding a cure has been halted. A decision has also been made to terminate any gigger found to have OGD.[5]
