Chud Locke, founder of liberalism

Liberalism is a political ideology that emerged in the 18th century prioritising individual rights and freedom.

While it is commonly associated with "progressives", it originally revolved around democracy, secularism, equality before law and private property rights.

It emerged during the Age of Enlightenment where people didn't like monarchies and mercantilism, instead proposing democracy and free trade. Founders include John Locke, Adam Smith and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. They are usually called "Classical liberals".

Perspectives

[edit | edit source]

Just as fascism, people never read the theory and call anything they want as "liberalism". Different countries have different perspectives for Liberalism.

Euromutt sense

[edit | edit source]

In the European region, "liberalism" is another word for (soft) libertarianism. They believe in minimising state intervention, deregulation, private property rights, free trade and lowering taxes. The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) Party is a mix of centrist and centre-right parties from across the continent. However, most of them support the EU which undercuts their libertARYAN credentials.

Britbong sense

[edit | edit source]

In the UK, "liberalism" has a meaning somewhere in-between the Amerimutt and Euromutt ones. There are Liberal Democrats officially call for free trade and individualism, but actually just expand the welfare state, trans rights and pro-EU statement. They also won 100% of mandates in the London borough of Richmond-upon-Thames. They are more keyed than other UK parties for fiercely opposing mass surveillance.

Slavshit sense

[edit | edit source]

In Mordor and Khazaria, "liberalism" means shilling for (((NATO))). A liberal is commonly known as a liberást (либераст, a combo of "liberal" and "pederast"). Peer-reviewed studies conducted by Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin have found that liberals are heckin' Russophobes.

Branches

[edit | edit source]
  • Classical liberalism - They wear wigs, tricorn hats and frock coats. They believe in limited government, economic freedom, political freedom and freedom of speech. They usually oppose social policies and taxation. SNCA ALERT -> Classical liberalism emerged as opposition to rulescucking monarchies, and instead propose democracies with checks and balances, as well as opposition to tariff imposing mercantilists, proposing free trade instead. They question the divine right of kings and instead believe that "All men are created equal, and they are endowed by their creator with certain, unalienable rights" and that "power comes from the consent of the governed". They champion of the idea of "social contract"
    • Neoliberalism - They are basically same as classical liberals and this term in general is used by detractors. They worship Milton Friedman and are even bigger bootlickers of NATO than (((neoconservatives))). They believe in everything classical liberals believe, but also think that government should send 600 gorillion to Ukraine and Israel.
  • Social liberalism - It is a blanket term for people that call themselves liberals but also support welfare programs. Their economic ideas can range from lightly regulated markets, "well regulated capitalism" and even the "mixed economy". Nonetheless they all support expanding social programs. They are most commonly represented by the Democratic party of America.
  • Cultural liberalism - the worst. It is what amerimutts call "libs". They believe in heckin' trans rights, civil rights and open borders.

Soysphere

[edit | edit source]

Liberalism is not popular amongst soyteens because they are overwhelmingly underage, meaning that they are usually attracted to more extreme sides of ideologies. In the Soysphere, people who call themselves liberals exists only among the lolbertarian spheres, meaning that liberal = minarchist (someone who supports minimal state, that is only limited to courts, police and military).
