SoyBooru

SoyBooru, formerly known as OnionsBooru, is a soyjak-themed booru officially affiliated with soyjak.party. A low-effort coal mine originally created as a tranny's private 'jak collection,[1] it was opened to the public on August 23, 2021 to replace soybooru.booru.org after the latter was flooded with spam and ultimately deleted.
Although it is adjacent to the Sharty, its userbase and culture are significantly different. Certain phenomena happened mainly on the 'ru instead of the Sharty, such as the Italo-Argentine War. The 'ru also does not have the imageboard-style commenting format that the Sharty does, which leads to different soyquoting and samefagging strategems such as the up arrows where you point at ^shitskin mexisharts above me.
Literally all of SoyBooru is just the same 10 nusatokos circelejerking and shitflinging with each other and posting coal, nearly indistinguishable from a Discord server. It's completely unusable other than to drop by every now and then to look for a specific soyjak edit, and there's currently a level-3 travel advisory against going there so reconsider using it. Ever since the Nuuru dropped, the site has increased in activity significantly, and more people pour in everyday. This was confirmed by Mustard who stated that the booru is more visited than the Sharty.
Prior to the Nuuru, SoyBooru was running a version of shimmie2 from 2020 which could not be updated to later versions until new software for it was launched at the beginning of 2026.

Userbase
[edit | edit source]
As everyone knows, the users of SoyBooru are severely autistic and schizophrenic. Ever since FNF pedo Jartycuck shitoko slopjaks were popularized back in early 2024, the website was flooded with slopjak spam. So many slopjaks have been made, that it was a competition to create "The Sloppiest Slopjak" known to man, with most trying and failing, and others just mass-producing them.
A large majority of the userbase are namefags and falseflaggers, meaning there will be a ton of falseflaggotry and horny NAS gooner brimstone, especially in the form of chudposting. They also tend to have obsessive hatred for certain literal who namefags. The apex predator of the booru has historically been Chud1.
The advent of the Nuuru software permanently changed the landscape of SoyBooru into a much more popular site with the addition of the Boorum to better cater to the site's growing needs. The advent of the Cacacaust also eliminated the most obsessed shitflingers.

Acquisition by Soot
[edit | edit source]

On September 6, 2021, in an impromptu Q&A in a Sootbait thread on /soy/, Soot revealed that OnionsBooru's owner had transferred ownership to him. [3]He further said that the booru would be moved to his "own domain". [4] On September 7, 2021, the Booru was released to the public once again at the link https://booru.soy. The old link, soyak.win, was made to redirect to the new link.[5] OnionsBooru's former owner, who remained a moderator, changed the "Featured Post" to a CIAjak to commemorate Soot's takeover.[6] It has since been changed to a different 'jak.[7] For the duration of the booru's time on its old domain, the Featured Post remained the Swedish "first soyjak".[8]
The site was later acquired by Kuz as a part of the Great Purchase. Kuz, however, did not run the website, and Soot continued to own the domain until September 25.
Later on, the administrator of SoyBooru left the site following Kuz stepping down from Party leadership. This caused Doll to take over.
Closure and revival
[edit | edit source]January 14, 2022
[edit | edit source]Soyjak.party was shut down by the hosting provider due to CSAM reports. This resulted in many users going to the booru and spamming it with unrelated NAS images.[9][10][11] A few hours later, Soyjak.party went back up and all the NAS spam was deleted.
January 15, 2022
[edit | edit source]A day later, the entire booru was wiped except for
December 4, 2022
[edit | edit source]SoyBooru later closed again on December 4, 2022 due to a large vandalism attack. This closure was prolonged due to the admin not having too much time to work on it. SoyBooru reopened, along with some infrastructure upgrades, on December 10, 2022.
August 14, 2023
[edit | edit source]Lolkek wipes the entire booru, demotes everyone, and posts one tranime picture along with the tag "soicucks_lost." This user then commented the following:
"I've become more spiritual in the last year and I do believe that the creation of this site is an unforgivable sin. I'm sorry, please forgive me... DEATH TO AM*RIKA"[13]

Later, all posts with Cobson were restored, the logo was changed to a smiling Cobson, and the counter was replaced by four images of Cobson with a large gape. It was renamed to CobsonBooru everywhere, except on the frontpage under the logo, where the previous name remained.
Then it came back to its normal state, and shortly after that, said Cobby changes were reverted. Lolkek made another post with the same tranime picture and comments that he had a full backup of the site shortly before he nuked it.[14]
Shortly afterwards, the site was entrusted to Angeleno. Everything after July 27th was lost due to lolkek ghosting Angeleno's requests for the data.[c]
August 17, 2023
[edit | edit source]On August 17, 2023, the booru was wiped AGAIN with the same tranime image, but this time with the caption:
>bint won
>tenshi earth won.
It's posted by an account named 34iramqi34, who commented under it:
>omgomg first pirty naw dis..how sameful how truly SHAEMFUKUK o dear ppl who like man who um wears glasses n liek beard his beard looks um unorganized n stuffs but um um but um yes iem thinking this is bade this place u see its so goner how sade how truly sade well u hav lambda naw lole n liek um yes i like bint n stuufs thamk u
-34iramqi34
After this happened, a comment ostensibly from Angeleno's account was posted:
>SoyBooru will disappear for good. Thank you for the good memories.
>its over
>Dear Soyjak Enthusiasts,
>It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you about the closure of our beloved SoyBooru. This decision was not made lightly, and we understand that it may bring disappointment to many of you who have been part of this vibrant community.
>Over the years, we've shared countless laughs, creative expressions, and memorable moments through the world of Soyjak images. It brought us joy to witness the camaraderie and wit that flourished within our community. However, recent events, including the shutdown of "soyjak.party" and the unforeseen consequences that followed, have led us to this difficult decision.
>We regret to acknowledge that the charm and fun that initially united us seem to have waned. The unique dynamics that made Soyjaks a source of delight have been affected, and we believe it's in the best interest of our community to close this chapter.
>Please understand that this decision wasn't taken lightly. We treasure the memories and connections we've built together, and it's our hope that you remember the laughter and creativity that once flourished within our community. We encourage you to keep those positive memories alive and continue sharing your creative spirit in other spaces.
>We thank each and every one of you who contributed to our community, who shared your talents, and who made Soyjaks a part of your online experience. We hope that you find new avenues to express your creativity and connect with like-minded individuals.
>Unfortunately due to high running costs, lack of interest, and Doll leaving the site behind, there's not much of a reason left to keep it running.
>While this chapter is coming to a close, let's remember the good times we had and the shared moments of laughter that defined our journey. Thank you for being a part of our SoyBooru community.
With gratitude and fond memories,
>-Angeleno
This wasn't actually 'leno, his account was accessed by Lolkek since he was admin and could see people's passwords and logins. It was later confirmed that lolkek had a sleeper account on the booru called "nineveh". The 'ru was restored and lolkek banned. Now, Quote, Soysneed, and Jubille were the only administrators of the site.
December 15, 2024
[edit | edit source]The site was in a read-only mode for anons due to sieges from der 'cord and tag vandalizations. People without accounts couldn't post comments, upload, or tag posts. It was reopened shortly after the 'cordpedos were absolutely BTFO'd by Doll and Warrior-Z.
April 25, 2025
[edit | edit source]An XSS exploit involving BBCode formatting in the comment section was found. The person who discovered this exploit used it to inject Javascript that applied a 4chan theme to the site.[15]
The site was taken offline within a few minutes and came back up 3 hours later with the exploit patched.

[edit | edit source]9a0c announced that the booru was "broken",[16] with the site going down. A looped 'ru refugee thread was created in /qa/.[17] Even though it could have been a coverup for an unknown agency taking over the site.
November 12, 2025
[edit | edit source]Former SoyBooru developer and moderator jubille was banned by Warrior-Z and Soysneed.[18] Mustard also joined the Booru as "custard".

Comment section
[edit | edit source]One particularly notorious aspect of SoyBooru is the comment sections of posts, best known for attracting a terminally autistic slash schizophrenic breed of soyteens that can only communicate with one another via a bizarre language composed of xenophobic slurs, ^up-pointing caret arrows, slopjak speechbubble images, and confusing buzzwords that feel like they come from the niggiest, pajeetiest, swarthiest, spanishciest, mexishartiest, most pozzed depths of Twitter. They also seem to use extreme wording for everything - what the typical soyteen would call iron, they call antimatter. It is very common for 'ru users to be obsessed with each other o algo, leading to extreme seetheouts about literal whos and the advent of a slopjak arms race for the purpose of finding better ways to slander your fellow 'ruGODs.

Baiting boorufags
[edit | edit source]
See: Satokofication
Unsurprisingly, boorusubhumans are known for being extremely easy to bait, leading to spectacular fits of rage. Even a post deemed normal by the average soycaca could get a few dozen to over a thousand comments from leaky nameflamboyant persons. Unlike most soyteens, boorucacas get angry at bait instead of laughing it out, mostly due to most of them being underage, LARPing as above 18. They also come from autistic online communities instead of more normal places like YouTube. Note that unlike Sharty baiting, where all bait apart from the more extreme has been normalized, booru namefags fall for the most low tier bait, even for things not meant to be bait. This makes it so you can both post normal things you like and bait people. You don't even have to try. Double points!
Modern SoyBooru
[edit | edit source]The modern SoyBooru, defined by the implementation of the new AI-coded forum software, and the Boorum, has transformed the site drastically into becoming a bigger version of the Schlog.
Today's SoyBooru culture largely consists around namefagging, drama, and bait. In addition, it serves as a forum site built on upvotes and downvotes, the option to "befriend", "enemy", or even "marry" users, as well as several gimmicks that can be bought with the site's in-site currency, "BooruBux". These gimmicks include "hats" for avatars and the ability to temporarily shrink another user's text and turn its color pink, called "being sissified". Most of these were made during Mustard’s schizophrenic maniac episodes.
The site runs on a 'reaction economy' similar to the Schlog, where users are given post reaction scores that are influenced by the site's reaction images, called Boorumoji. Private DMs between users or large groups of users can be set up as well. Occasionally the site will host events or contests for engagement purposes. Most of the site's activity consists of around 30 or so namefags engaging with all the previously mentioned material.
Forum
[edit | edit source]
Main article: Boorum
On February 27th, a forum, known as the Boorum, was launched. In it you can create threads to discuss different topics.
It features 6 categories:
- General & Off-Topic
- Blogposting
- News & Politics
- Metadiscussion
- Multimedia
- Projects
Just like booru comment sections, the Boorum has tons of shitflinging/dueling. One example is Warrior-Z shitflinging with multiple namefags, with the thread they were fighting in reaching over 96k replies.[19]
Statistics
[edit | edit source]January-August 2026
[edit | edit source]
On August 31, 2026, Mustard released information regarding activity statistics of SoyBooru[20] for the year 2026, ranging from the start of the year to August 30.
Between January 1 and August 30, SoyBooru had a total of 4,155,516 contributions[d], averaging 17,171.6 per day.
SoyBooru saw little activity during January and February before rising considerably from March onward. This coincides with the release of Nuuru.
SoyBooru's busiest day was April 15,[e] with 75,867 posts and comments. This is presumably due to the spam war that occurred after Supreme's promotion.[21]
On average, around 360 'ru users were active each day. This means there are approximately 47.7 public contributions per active user per day.[f] Of all registered accounts, only around one quarter post or comment at least once.[22] According to Mustard, the site's stagnation is not due to a lack of new users, but "because the replenishment rate for bans is 1:1".[23]
Most activity on SoyBooru comes from comments and forum posts. Booru uploads make up only a relatively small portion of the total. Of the 4,155,516 contributions, 2,145,833 (51.6%) were booru uploads or forum posts. The remaining 2,009,683 (48.4%) were comments. This averaged 8,867.1 posts and 8,304.5 comments per day.
According to Mustard, SoyBooru is least active between 6 AM to 12 PM UTC on Tuesdays.[24]
August-September 2026
[edit | edit source]Mustard released another screenshot of the statistics dashboard on September 7,[25] ranging from August 8 to September 6, 2026.
During this period, SoyBooru received 644,972 public contributions, averaging 21,499.1 per day. The busiest day was August 29, with 44,819 public contributions.
An average of 493 users were active each day, with 1,404 unique range-wide active users[g] across the period. There were 941 recorded registrations and 304 users making their first booru or forum post during the period.[h] 918 returning contributors were active, those who had posted before the selected period.
Booru uploads and forum posts accounted for 377,002 contributions, or 58.5% of the total. The remaining 267,970 contributions, or 41.5%, were comments.
The new screenshot also reports user retention, defining a retained user as someone who "posts, comments, or sends a [private] message during the 30-day window beginning at each milestone after signup." the retention rates were 33% at 30 days, 20.8% at 90 days, 13.5% at 180 days, and 7.4% at 365 days.[i]
Compared with the January 1-August 30 average, daily public contributions increased by approximately 25.2%, while average daily active users increased by approximately 36.9%. Public contributions per active user consequently fell from approximately 47.7 to 43.6 per day.[j] Booru uploads and forum posts increased their share of public contributions from 51.6% to 58.5%, while the share accounted for by comments fell from 48.4% to 41.5%. These stats indicate that SoyBooru saw an increase in activity and growth in this period.
The most active approvers during this period were Usnutt, Vale, NeonWasTaken, MymyWABAG, and Garzon.

- ↑ Total posts are checked through SoyBooru's gallery page with all filters unticked, not through post IDs as many posts were removed
- ↑ The Janitor role was removed on May 27th 2026 by Mustard[2], but was reimplemented on the 31st of July 2026.
- ↑ Lolkek states that Angeleno didn't trust him after this incident, which might be the real reason the data was never given.
- ↑ Both posts and comments
- ↑ Activity on April 15 was approximately 4.4 times the daily average.
- ↑ The unique user count includes users who send private messages, while the contribution total excludes private messages.
- ↑ This stat includes both contributors and message senders
- ↑ First-time contributors did not necessarily register during the same period, as previously registered but inactive accounts who began contributing in this period would fall under the new contributor stat but not registrations. A comparison between the numbers is not appropriate.
- ↑ Each milestone uses a different set of eligible accounts and these percentages do not track a single group of users over time.
- ↑ The periods overlap between August 8 and August 30. Active user counts include private-message senders, while public contributions exclude private messages.
