Dan is the SoyBooru's version of Nate meant to represent a user of the site.

Dan was created on a /soy/ thread proposing the creation of an expressive meme for the Booru. He is often used in contexts where you want to depict a user from it in a way that a regular Nate wouldn't suffice, in fact he represents the kind of Soyteen that browses primarily the booru instead of the Sharty. In many posts, Dan is even represented as having a rivalry with his Sharty counterpart. As usual, he's a recolor that uses an orange shirt and can be depicted using pretty much any variant. The name 'Dan' is a pun and a reference to Danbooru, the most popular booru site that served as inspiration for most other ones (including the SoyBooru) but some also say Ban Dykes is his full name whoever it's more for a reverse name effect like Nate Higgers, which would make something like "Ban Dykes" but nobody cares about Dykes anyways. In terms of personality, he easily gets in namefag fights and countrywars. He also likes self-inserting and slopjaks.

Dan Bykes was born on July 13, 2010, in Denver, Colorado. Since from an early age, his parents (Nathaniel Bykes and Mary Bykes) noticed that something was off with him, as he would only eat chicken nuggets and refused to watch anything that wasn't trains or Shaun the sheep. At age 10, he was diagnosed with autism, and he was introduced to the Sharty in 2023 by his online friend, Nate Higgers. He wasn't really that interested in the sharty, but got very interested in a side website called the soybooru. He would (and still does) spend hours on the 'ru, arguing with niggers and namefags alike.
He is friends with Nate, and another SEVERELY autistic friend named James, who spams templates on this very wiki. Apart from these two niggers, Dan doesn't have many friends due to a certain factor.
