The Day the 'log Bled

On April 19, 2024, /soy/'s catalog was flooded with red Cobsons in response to Root's inaction toward racebait. This event has been dubbed "The Day the 'log Bled" or "The Red Surge".
Prelude[edit | edit source]
In late April, some soyteens believed that /soy/ was developing a race bait problem, specifically pointing to Spadeson or other 'cord memes. As a result, several soyteens went to /q/ asking Root to sweep up /soy/. In one thread, Root responded by telling the soyteen that /soy/ should just tolerate it and not be baited. [1] This was not taken well, and 'teens took the conversation to /soy/. In one thread, a 'teen suggested that in protest, they post red Cobsons.[2]
Conflict[edit | edit source]
Quickly, dozens of Redsons were made and flooded the 'log. The "protestors" took on the name "The Red 'Sons" and demanded Root ban Spadeson. It is estimated that there was anywhere between 5-10 Red 'Sons[3]. At the same time a thread was made demanding that if it made it to 1000 posts by the end of April 19, racebait and Spadeson will be permabanned.[4] In retaliation, Pro-Spadeson 'teens countered the Red Son's with sages and bombarded the 1000 post thread with tranime, 'lita, 'p, and of course Spadeson. Among these was a 'cordfaggot called bu5t and the troonimai lolicon poster avatarfag, who are among numerous people notorious for derailing raids.[5] About halfway through the protest, bloody neutral posters began spamming the 'log with TND copypastas. After 3 hours of posting and 3/4s of /soy/ turned red, the Red 'Sons ended their protest with the 1000 post thread reaching its mark. Despite this, the blood 'pliers continued their posting, causing the Red 'Sons to neither condone or denounce their faction.[6] Root responded say that he would do nothing, however the spade spam which prompted the Red 'Sons was ended afterwards. Some of the more conspiratorial 'teens believe that in order to save face, Root openly "mocked" the Red 'Sons while quietly meeting their demands to end the raid.

Battle on the Wiki[edit | edit source]
Root loyalist Wiki Users engaged in an edit war to take the page down and even moved for a vote which failed.

Aftermath[edit | edit source]
Conclusion[edit | edit source]
After the event, the Red 'Sons mostly disappeared from /soy/. On occasion, the Red Cobson posting was used as a way to criticize and mock Root. Some events which have spurred on the Red 'Son's return include (The McCaptcha being added, Infinite scroll being added, country flags being added to /soy/, Zelligate, and several other times when jannies refused to sweep. However none of these following raids flooded as much as the first wave. Some rootists rumored that Red Cobsons are a der 'cord psyop, but it's way more likely that it's just a group who are utterly sick of Root's shit.

Roots Deposition[edit | edit source]
On May 25, 2024, now vindicated in their beliefs, the Red 'Sons take to /soy/ for possibly the last time

Factions[edit | edit source]
Red 'Sons[edit | edit source]
An Anti-Rootist faction, unhappy with Root's Sharty.[7][8] Because complaining in /q/ was not working, they took to /soy/ instead to make an impression through "protest". While their intentions were once peaceful, their protest have devolved into a riot.

Blood 'Pliers[edit | edit source]
This was a pro-TND faction that seems to have aped off of the Red Soyjaks trend. Most of their posts talked about TND. While the sincerity of the Blood 'Pliers is up to debate, it is certain that there has been tensions around the Root era ban of TND.

Blue 'Sons[edit | edit source]
About 7 hours before The Red 'Sons took action, another group (or a single 'teen) posted blue Cobsons in protest of spadeson.[9] No connections have been made to link the two movements at the moment. Expert soientist from the SSA are currently looking into this mystery.
