Ongezellig (Officially styled as ONGEZELLIG, translates to something like "Unpleasant" or "Antisocial" [though there is no direct translation]), also known as 'zellig or 'lig in Soyspeak, was a Dutch-language animated series on YouTube created by created by Studio Massa known for being shilled and forced on /qa/ and soyjak.party.

It was released in 6 deels from 2018 to 2022, spanning a whopping grand total of 24 minutes and 38 seconds, roughly a single episode of an average TV show. This was a severe disappointment to those who had funded it for its four years lifespan, and for a period of time, Ongezellig lied dormant, with fans of the show clinging onto hope that it would come back. Ongezellig would eventually shelved by Studio Massa in 2024 due to burnout and lack of funding. He stated that the show could be continued if it was "bought" and funding was found, or if he lost his job as a commercial animator.

Maya Schoppenboer (Robin Barten) is a le shy gooner archetype girl of MUTT descent (25% Dutch 25% Indian 25% Indonesian 25% Chinese) hailing from Baarle-Nassau, Northern Brabant on Netherlands-Belgium border. She is the ONLY one of the 3 girls who wasn't adopted. At a young age, she was diagnosed with ADHD, which the show refers to as ADD. Maya is the stereotypical NEET but female, and is reluctant or unable to communicate with other people because her Mom (Soei) is a SLF Chink who hates her, and her Dad (Ravi) is absent most of the time. Unlike a stereotypical hero, she is more apathetic and reluctant than courageous, and tends to be passive in her relationships. Her social anxiety leads her to doubt the value of her existence, to be disheartened, and to seek a raison d'être; she attempts to full this void by watching tranime, porn, and performing tech support for Coco.

Additionally, in Deelz nuts 1 viewers noted that Maya's computer desktop had The Sims installed. This suggests that Maya copes with her social withdrawal by acting out personal fantasies on her computer. Studio Massa later played upon this fact in Deez nuts 3 by depicting Maya as having schizophrenic delusions of social interaction (even going as far as to reject a boy she liked when he got into the bus with her, see the few special art Studio Massa made), suggesting that she can no longer even discern reality.

Originally from Nagasaki, Mymy Schoppenboer (Meiko Tachibana) (Joyce Ter Stege) became a fervent Dutch nationalist upon moving abroad. She is depicted on the exterior as deeply self-centered and egotistical; however, on the inside, Mymy suffers from extensive self-hatred as she cannot accept her Japanese heritage, so much so that she even wears blue contact lenses and pretends to be from Japsterdam, Drenthe. This inner conflict defines her character arc as well as her relationship with Maya due to the latter's enjoyment of anime, which Mymy views as "decadent Oriental cartoons". Her hatred towards her original culture comes from the fact that her biological parent hated her so much that they left her for adoption, which hit her very hard. In fact, there have been speculations that Mymy is behind the nuking of Nagasaki (as well as other crimes against Japan), because her older sister has been looking for her around the Netherlands, presumably to bring honor and justice (see Studio Massa's special art section for paypiggies). Coco

Coco Schoppenboer (Potgieter) (Merel Does) is an air-headed "White" archetype originally from South Africa. She attempts to involve Maya in social activities because she knows that Maya has no friends. She is the most "normal" of the main characters and serves as the introduction point for the audience; however, she is still riddled with complexities which emerge later on, such as her inability to perceive subtlety or nuance, and her over-literal interpretation of what others have to say. This comes to a tragic head early on in the story when she interprets Maya's browsing history as a history compendium. The real reason why Coco got adopted is that her 2 parents were killed by a jobless, chicken eating, watermelon consuming, mouth breathing lighting strike, causing their unfortunate demise.

Other characters

Vera Persijn (Kayleigh Luyks) is a depressed alcoholic high-school teacher who wishes that she were younger. She harbors an immense hatred for the main cast, possibly out of a resentment that they are wasting their youths like she herself did. In Deel 2, she is seen taking out this hatred on Mymy by bludgeoning her off a table with a glass bottle.

Kiki is a classmate of the 3 girls and a frenemy of Mymy. Frenemy because she oftens gets into ideological slapfights with Mymy about East India Company and Pirates. She herself larps as a pirate as seen by her outfit and has cutlass looking knife. The only background character that has her own theme (which was never used). An unknown voice actor was actually assigned to her but no voicelines were made.

Pilot

Deelz nuts 1+2

Maya is seen watching what appears to be a hentai scene between an anime girl and a mollusk humanoid, but she is suddenly interrupted by Coco. She quickly closes all the tabs she has open on her PC and undergoes an awkward conversation with her sister, in which she finds out Coco has been having some "problems" with making her presentation for tomorrow and wants to do it together with her. Maya runs out of her room and gets stuck in the tape that was supposed to keep Coco out. After a scene where Maya reflects on her own thoughts, she gets "captured" by Mymy, leading to a conversation about Mymy's presentation. The scene cuts to Coco staying on Maya's PC and finding questionable content there.

After all of this we finally cut to Mymy reading her presentation to the class. After getting too potentially violent, her teacher, Vera, just smacks her in the head with a bottle 'o' booze. The teacher says the name of the next person who needs to present their presentation, who just so happens to be Maya. She explains how she doesn't have a presentation and Vera gets visibly angry. Next is Coco, who after seeing what was on Maya's PC, made a presentation about "mollusk love in ancient Japan". After the fiasco, all three sisters go to the teacher's office and Coco is confused about what she did wrong.

Deelz 3

Vera excuses the girls and gives them another chance at remaking their presentations. Maya is given the task to do one about Belgium, Coco is given South Africa and Mymy is given Drenthe (a province of The Netherlands). The scene gets cut to Maya spending time with what appears to be her friends in a park, but her fantasy is interrupted by her receiving a text message from Coco, asking Maya to come outside as she found "him" (referring to her computer monitor).

Deelz 4

Coco is seen waving at what appears to be her friends cheering her on, Mymy seems to be studying and Maya stays silent at a PC, barely having written the start of her presentation. Coco salutes Maya from her back and she gets as noticeably scared as she was at the start of Deel 1. Coco offers to help Maya but after having a conversation about ADD and autism, in which Mymy joins in, she decides she can do it on her own, but clearly she cannot and goes up to Coco and Mymy to join them.

Deelz 5

Coco questions Maya about what her presentation is supposed to be about and she answers Belgium. After hearing this, Mymy decides to make the presentation for Maya, but in the process makes it incredibly gemmy. Together the three sisters decide to split Maya's presentation between themselves. Maya gets too stressed out, Coco tries to get her to stay, but only ends up insulting Maya for having no friends. Maya then insults Coco for having no parents, to which Coco threatens her life by pushing her partly out of a window and threatening to let go if she doesn't apologize. Maya apologizes and runs away.

Deelz 6 (the last one)

Maya is going to ACK herself for shits and giggles but it turns out she is just having a schizophrenic outburst due to not taking meds. She concludes her loneliness is a (((Jewish))) conspiracy before she comes back to reality and bursts out of the bathroom but is stopped in her tracks by Coco. Realizing she has no presentation, she is ready to shoot up some whites at the local grocery store in order to preserve the white race or something but Coco informs her that she can simply use Mymy's TOTAL BELGIAN DEATH presentation she made at the start of Deel 5. This actually works and at the end of the episode Coco and Mymy are about to play some board game and offer Maya to join but declines cuz something something shit parents don't love her and make her feel worthless and afraid to do anything or whatever

Maya's Sweet 16

Maya is on her phone when it strikes midnight, and she gets an email from some website saying happy birthday. She then goes to bed and has a dream where she's celebrating her birthday, but before she can blow out the candles, the SLF's call Maya a loser and she starts crying. She wakes up, and pretends to be sick in order to avoid school. This fools Soei, but when Coco comes in to tell Maya to get better, she sees her eating Kruidnoten. Coco just says "Happy Birthday" before leaving, and Maya breaks down in shame. Massa hates this Comic as he says that it really didn't fit with the tone he wanted for Ongezellig or whatever

Maya's conversation

On the bus from school to home a boy that looks extremely close to Maya's imaginary friend Epke takes a sit close to Maya. He tries to have a conversation with her starting from the fact that he hears that Maya blasts Death Grips in her headphones which he likes too. But Maya ends up feeling awkward and leaves the bus at the bus stop.

Relation to /soy/ and /qa/

Ongezellig has been an extremely divisive topic on soyjak.party and the wider Soy Community for several years, boiling into several conflicts, including the Third Soyvil War. Detractors say that the show is brimstone and/or gooning material for pedophiles, and that Ongezellig-related material should be banned on /soy/ for being NAS, if not from the entirety of Soyjak.party. Its supporters praise the show, and argue that it should be celebrated as Sharty Culture, even though the content is NAS.

The reason soyteens care about this show at all is because the school-age female characters make safe-edgy jokes about Hitler, the Holocaust, and school shootings, amongst other topics. Sound familiar? No? Nothing? Well all right then. Ongezellig's fanbase mainly links up on 4chan's /co/ board, Plebbit, Twitter, YouTube, the Studio Massa Discord, and an image board. There is Ongezellig content on a small dedicated booru, soyjak.party's /qa/ board, and many images on SoyBooru.

Origin

/qa/ mention in the Deel 6 credits

The Ongezellig fanbase began as only a couple of original fans on 4chan's /co/ - Comics and Cartoons board in 2018, when the series began. Threads began showing up shortly after the series debuted. On August 20, 2021, one of these fans thought it would be an absolutely fantastic idea to force and shill their favorite webseries on the schizo asylum that was the /qa/ - Question & Answer board in order to bring in more users to the small fanbase. They did this by making threads featuring an image titled "hi qa.jpg" of the characters Maya and Mymy, with the text "hi again /qa/bros". This user would post one of these threads every single day for several months, occasionally changing the "hi /qa/" text to some other similar wording. This user succeeded in bringing more fans into the fanbase. However, because this user decided to shill his favorite webseries on a board dedicated primarily to random memes and shitposting, the tiny Ongezellig fanbase became filled with a legion of hyper-autistic shitposters, trolls, spammers, and other schizos who would turn the relatively unknown series into a meme.

On November 3, 2021, The Great Soyset occurred, in which /qa/ was permanently locked. This forced the Ongezellig fanbase to move onto soyjak.party, and thus the 'jakking began.

The "hi again /qa/bros" shill was last seen on /mlp/ during the great soyset, making an "exile general" for /qa/ refugees.

From Deel 4 onward, "/qa/" began appearing in the list of supporters in the credits. Presumably a /qa/ user who subscribed to Massa's petje.af and set his name to /qa/. "/qa2/" is also listed in Deel 5's supporter list.

'zellig posting on the Sharty was the cause of the Third Soyvil War, which ended in a stalemate.

Ongezellig Fans

The demonym, which is used for a 'zellig poster, is 'zelligposter, but detractors refer to them as zelligtrannies. Other names include 'zelliggers, 'ligsters, zaryans (short for zelligaryans) and 'zellig brothers/teens.

Ongezellig fans are known to have diverse opinions regarding the subjects of porn and religion. They would often show their culture by spamming threads on /qa/ (and sometimes on /soy/). Eventually, old 'zellig threads would often be necrobumped for long periods of time. Phrases such as upzellig, bumo, bumozellig , topzellig, and go upzellig were commonly used. The act of spamming and necrobumping 'zellig threads was known as "turning the log orange". This culminated in the 'zellig banner thread where a thread was necrobumped for over thirty days in the hopes that kuz would add the Ongezellig banner (which he did). Note that 'zellig is disproportionately popular among slavic nations, especially Russia for whatever reason nobody knows.

Kuz

Kuz, despite the pedo allegations, is generally seen by 'zelligposters as a good admin. He added the 'zellig banner, allowed 'lig on /soy/ and attempted to buy Ongezellig (this failed, due to his terrible communication skills, thus being viewed as troll by Massa). As such, the Kuz era Sharty is well remembered and viewed as a time of prosperity by 'zelligposters.

Unlike Kuz, Doll attempted to implement anti-zellig policies. He removed the zellig banner (because it inspired "drama" amongst teens), banned ligsters from /soy/ and introduced high post cool-downs on /qa/, consequently killing it. Under his regime, many rouge jannies deleted the OC making AI threads (6 gone, 7th still up and running) and banned 'ligsters for the lols. Doll was also known to like ponies, which upset zellig chuds even more.

Froot

At first, Froot was seen as a friend of Ongezellig fans, because of his decision to make /zellig/; however, after the locking (and eventual deletion) of the board, his opinion among Ongezellig fans shifted significantly. Most Ongezellig fans condemn him and do not want anything to do with him.

Root

Root really likes Ongezellig, xer avatar on Schlog was a 'jak edit of Vera. Root was very supportive towards 'lig posters of /qa/. Despite this when all this happened according to Root's words she didn't even watch it. Probably already watched it by now. Most 'zellig posters have neutral or lightly positive opinion on Root.

Studio Massa

After a leak of an interview, many have speculated that Studio Massa has regretted his decision to introduce Ongezellig to soyteens (even tho we were one of the groups who got the show recognition, in fact, this page is one of the first to show when typed "Ongezellig" in Google search no longer shows on front page, possibly due to domain change or TND section) and would not work on the show EVER ;( . The speculated reason was that he was a selfish little fuck who hates "internationals", and doesn't like the fact that Mymy, Coco and Maya are ultranationalists who hate the jews. He only wishes to speak to dutch people and hires troons for moderators on his discord. This has been debuncked by Massa's trans black queen pet, Foenkie, in a few discord posts, which state that Massa simply wanted to express that the show was made for dutch people and wished to stay that way and DOES NOT hate the fact that soyteens and/or internationals enjoy his content. However, he is pissed off by trooncorders which he confuses with soyteens who raid his 'cord with le beybeycey and 'p.

On January 20 2024, a user on /soy/ leaked Massa's full name and his old deviantart account (and his youtube channel), revealing that he was into furries and drew furry art, and was also a brony (somebody call Lee right now), along with a face reveal.

Use by the alt-right

As early as 2021, a number of 'zellig variants were created by Internet trolls to associate the character with the alt-right movement. Some of the variants produced by this had Nazi Germany, Ku Klux Klan, or far-right white nationalist themes.

Originally an apolitical series, Ongezellig was appropriated from 2021 onward as a symbol of the alt-right movement, as it's creator "Sam Tollenaar" did not appreciate the newfound community of far-right extremists, and he subsequently shut down the series because he is a selfish little fuck. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) included Ongezellig in its hate symbol database in 2023^{[it just is, ok?]}, but said most instances of Ongezellig were not used in a hate-related context.

Relation to offsite groups

Ongezellig has always been controversial ever since it started being spammed on /qa/ and the sharty. To this day, nobody knows who exactly the sperg who first began shilling his favorite webseries was. Though some 'teens speculate it was the creator trying to force the series to get shekels from 'eens. No definite proof exists to confirm the series is 100% of offsite origin.

A reddit troon by the name of Waltuhwaltuh2, who has the character "Maya" on his profile, was discovered by the sharty. His account dates to January 16, 2023, has over 70k reddit karma, and has been posting coaly shitposts containing sharty related shits on a myriad of troon subreddits such as r/196 and r/ihaveihaveihavereddit (albeit no mention of ongezellig posted to his account until September 9). His obvious shilling of the sharty on multiple popular subreddits and his clear love for the series raises questions about the origin of the 'zelligposters. While this account was created in January of 2023 ('zelligposting had existed prior to then, dating back to 2021), it may be possible this is a newer account made by an existing reddit user, and the account was created not long before the Third Soyvil War. Could it be that this user is also the same sperg who began shilling his obsession onto /qa/ and the sharty? Some say yes, though the 'zellig posters (the ones on the sharty at least) deny affiliation with these groups.

When soycords are leaked, 'zellig avatars are a fairly common sight. Take for example this server titled "soyjak [REDACTED]", featuring a handful of 'zellig avatars amid brony pedophiles, frogposters, and other degens. Even goth the Dancing swede.mp4 'p spammer had a 'zellig profile picture on 'cord and was a member of massacord.

However, just because a discord user likes something, it doesn't mean that thing is automatically discord (if a 'cord user has a soyjak as a profile picture, does it mean soyjaks are from da 'cord?). So an abundance of 'zellig avatars in soycords can simply be explained as a byproduct of Ongezellig's prevalence within sharty culture.

Relationship with /co/omers

Despite having the same passion for Ongezellig, zaryans and /co/omers (4cuck zelligposters) are hostile towards each other or at the very least do not enjoy each others company. Conflicts between these groups are usually caused by 'zelliggers gemming up the 'log, or /co/omers complaining about the Sharty and Zarty or posting "BIG BOOB EDITS" and other things disliked by soyteens.

The main reason for this is that /co/omers hate the sharty and think that it ruined the show. This is false. Meanwhile /co/omers are known to enjoy and share with newfags porn and other degeneracy in their threads. 'zelliggers, on the other hand, enjoy sharty and chud culture. They also think that ultimatly /co/oomers will be the downfall of Ongezellig, because of their troon friendly behavior.

Overall their main battle is who can shill 'zellig to a producer first. If 'zelliggers are to win, everything said in this wiki will become canon (eventho it is already). If /co/omers win, Maya will be turned into a transqueen, Coco will get blacked and Mymy will start to support the jews.

Relationship with Reddit

There are at least 2 Ongezellig subreddits, such as r/zellig and r/Ongezellig. r/zellig was created for Ongezellig, r/Ongezellig was a dutch subreddit for a completely different topic but it got taken over by 'zelligers due to the name. The Reddit side of the Ongezellig fanbase is absolutely hostile to Soysphere 'zellig posters and the Zarty (minus r/zellig). They refer to people they don't like as "zarty troll".

Zelligate

On May 11th 2024, a massive soycord server called the Afterparty was exposed for creating and posting brimstone pedotranny loli edits of Ongezellig characters and downloading real 'p.

Autistic replacements

Although 'zelligposting is past its prime of 2022-2023, it inspired some soyteens to being forcing their own favorite autistic NAS in an attempt to make it sharty culture, but most of the time it fails and it just becomes a way to bait angry responses out of nulees. This is heavily tied with MIAO.

Connection to the CIA

Although unsubstantiated, someone has leaked CIA documents saying that since DOLL, all admins were CIA First Chief Technology Officers and were trying to make the Sharty more to their liking, although their motivation is unclear.

Mass adoption by normalfags

Since mid-2024 someone started shilling Ongezellig to a bunch of normalfags. Ongezellig used to be mostly known only around internet circles mentioned above (Sharty, 4chan, Reddit) but now it's common among normies (mostly ones on Youtube, Xitter and Instagram). You might find a 'zellig avatar in comments of basically every popular jewtube video.
