The Salt is Quote "theory" is a conspiracy theory revolving around current admin Salt that tells Salt is actually Quote's alter-ego.

Arguments and Evidence[edit | edit source]

  • This exact sort of thing has happened before: notably, Quote's co-administrator Limeade was notorious for adopting new personas (Thanos, Boot) to try and 'reset' his reputation.
  • Modcodes were hidden as soon as Salt became admin.
  • In his infamous JSID announcement, Quote said that he would not sell the site to anyone.
  • Quote is still a bureaucrat on this very 'ki.[1] Additionally, Mustard, who effectively ran the soysphere during Quote's inactivity, is still in control of SoyBooru.
  • The vast majority of Salt's changes seem to be aimed at directly undoing the policies of his "predecessor": he has eliminated wordfilters on /soy/, unbanned 'blox discussion, and even reversing all Quote-era bans. This is possibly Quote attempting to false flag opponents by making 'teens believe that, if his terrible policies were overturned, and users given what they want, the site would go to shit. (Even 'doe 'teens would heil Salt if he didnt allow gore and hostiles sites)
  • A thread proving mustard is jubille was deleted[it just is, ok?snopes?it just is, ok?how???whatbut... why?]
  • They ban anyone they don't like.
  • They are very private about themselves.
  • They rarely interact with the community.

Opposing theories[edit | edit source]

Quote was tired, meets salt and accepts the 25k offer. Quotecord freaks out because they're gonna replaced, their discord servers get deleted, etc. Fast forward today, Mist leaks quote's alt account and 3-months worth of janny-related discord server logs. Mustard was kept in charge of the soybooru but doesn't own the servers, Salt owns the sharty and later decides to take over this wiki, mustard lost key to SSH and later lost his position to Warrior-Z. That's all.[2][3]

Other theories[edit | edit source]

Salt is Root[edit | edit source]

When 'teens were looking through boards that were hidden to jannies they found that root made posts on /test/ during the Quote era.[4] This could imply that Quote gave the sharty to root and he just decided not to namefag.

Salt is Soot[edit | edit source]

Soot has once given offers to quote to become admin of the sharty. Quote may have decided to accept this offer, only just not making it public. Other similarity’s are that both salt and soot use the normal tripcode (Chud ## Admin), hate namefags, are shit at coding, dont really interact with the booru and 'ki, and have very similar names.

TRVTH NVKE[edit | edit source]

With the sharty hack happening right before the """""handover""""" none of this shit makes sense mayne. So here is my head cannon. It came to me in a dream therefore it must be true

>Beginning of august hackers exploit the MPA vulnurability

>Quote takes a really long time to find out or just actively chooses to ignore the situation

>frog_really_bad.png

>Site goes down

>Quote either rebrands or finds a fall guy for this debacle to distract the nuswas with minor policy changes (omg just like my hekkinn deKuzification!!!!!!)

>Wiki also gets hacked even after the handover

>ALL of sharty users ip's get leaked

>you are here

All of this is very jewish and there has been zero communication and efforts to cover it up like it's the fucking chornobyl.
