'Alternate History is a genre of speculative fiction of stories in which one or more historical events occur and are resolved differently than in real life. It usually consist of the same four or five scenarios like "What if Nazis won World War II" and "What if the South won the Civil War????" and is enjoyed primarily by 13 years olds and trannies who play Hearts of Iron IV.

Germany Winning World War II

Alternate history authors always make sure to let everyone know how HECKIN BADASS the uniforms are. This is because autists are obsessed with superficial details.

Arguably the most common alternate history trope. A large motion of alternate history is laser focused on an alternate World War II where the Nazis win for an extremely contrived reason that would not make sense in real life. If it is explained, it almost always has to do with the macguffin of the alternate history property or is caused by Germany not doing something that they would have done in real life (such as the holocaust or invading Russia.) Most of the time, the reasoning is often completely ignored.

The South Winning the American Civil War

The second most common scenario in alternate history. Just like Germany winning World War II, The Confederate victory either goes inexplained, happens because of a macguffin, or happens because the south didn't do something that they would have done every time in real life. Due to being less common than German victory stories, Southern victory stories are usually of (slightly) better quality than German victory stories.

Balkanized America

In almost all alternate history stories focusing on America, the country is always split apart due to political and ethnic tensions between the states. Because of this, the political climate of America resembles that of the Balkans, hence the Balkanization name. In these stories, the confederacy (or some derivative of it) exists without fail. The remnants of the old government are always either concentrated in the east or west.

MacGuffin

A MacGuffin is an object, event, or character in a film or story that serves to set and keep the plot in motion despite usually painting intrinsic importance. MacGuffins are common in alternate history stories, and they are often the explanation for the timeline divergence. Examples of MacGuffins in alternate history include the AK-47's in Harry Turtledove's Guns of the South, The dimensional travel technology in The Man in the High Castle series, and the technology created by Da'at Yichud in the new Wolfenstein games.

Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus are a series of alternate history video games which prints a dystopian America after a successful Nazi invasion. All minorities (specifically jews and black people) are rounded up and genocide, yet there's still enough of them to form a resistance something. The series features hyper-advanced technology courtesy of a MacGuffin.

The story originally had a serious-tone with occasional light-hearted moments, but has been devolved into another capeshit, troon-fantasy IP that is mean to fuel Amerimutt left-wingers obsession with "killing le fascis" when most of them shit their pants at the sight of a slightly-more contagious version of the flu.

The Man in the High Castle

The Man in the High Castle is an alternate history novel (later an Amazon Prime series) which deputies a dystopian America after a successful Nazi invasion. The New Order: The Last Days of Europe is an alternate history modification for Hearts of Iron IV which prints a dystopian Europe after a successful Nazi occupation. All minorities (specifically jews and slavs) are rounded up and genocided, yet there's still enough of them to form a resistance something.

Oh and Himmler has a literally comically evil fiefdom in France where they rape Belgian babies and bash them against walls, so another cartoonishly evil Russian who does a heckin unwholesome by bringing back the Romanov empire (hecking monarchy in current year? DOWNDOOT!!!) and thinks Prince Alexei wasn't murdered by commietroons and tries getting his attention by killing 420 thrembillion people.

The mod is deliberately designed so that it is near impossible to succeed as a non-democratic country.

FUN FACT: Pink Panzer (the they/them, now troon, who made the mod) asked Vaush for advice when making the mod. Alternate History is an alternate history TV show which received a single episode. It prints a dystopian America after a successful Nazi invasion. All minorities (specifically jews and black people) are rounded up and genocide, yet there's still enough of them to form a resistance something. The series features hyper-advanced technology courtesy of a MacGuffin.

Seeing a pattern yet? This pilot is most notable for featuring a Nazi internet with Nazi versions of popular webpages. The NaziNet leads to the defeat of the American Reich through popular revolt. They are later extinct when TotallyNotHitler comes to power Unlike other popular alternate history series, Southern Victory does not feature hyper-advanced technology for no reason!

Guns of the South

Guns of the South is an alternate history novel which deputies a dystopian American South after a Confederate victory in the civil was. The Confederate victory in the story is caused by racist South African time travelers from the far off year of 2004 going back in time to 1862 to give AK-47's to the Confederate army. All black people are rounded up and enslaved, yet there's still enough of them to form a resistance somehow. This story was written by the same guy responsible for the Southern Victory series, so they share many similarities.

Kaiserreich

Kaiserreich: Legacy of the World War is an alternate history modification for Hearts of Iron IV which prints a dystopian France & Britain after a successful leftist revolution. All rich people & Christians are rounded up and genocide, yet there's still enough of them to form a resistance somehow^{(even doe is literally stated that the reason for that is that the previous goverments of France and the UK went into exile to their colonies to plan a possible counter attack)}. So this is about the Germans winning WW1 and America falling into another civil war.

The author of the mod trooned out in 2022 and is known for constant sperging out over realism, removing cool story events and features for "muh realism". You could get banned from it's 'cord for saying the word "Byzantine" at one point, for example of the author's autism.

/Trump/ Lost

Trump lost is a series of alternate history novels where instead of /trump/ gassing ALL kikes Soot bows to Charles Schwab All chuds are rounded up and banned, yet there's still enough of them to cause total nigger death.

Impjak Adventure: Soystein Becomes President

Impjak Adventure: Soystein Becomes President is an alternate history pornography which prints a utopian America after Dr. Soystein becomes president. After his election, Soystein distributes meds nationwide. These meds make everyone happy, but also have the effect of making all women (and trannies) fawn over him. All women are rounded up and raped by Soystein, yet there's still no way that the trannies will ever have sex. There is hyper-advanced technology because there is just, okay?

Captain Coal retains control of the Party

A dystopian thriller about a hypothetical scenario where Captain Coal somehow trumped Soot and became the de-facto owner of the Party, gaining total control to allow him to commit all children of brimtrocities against the Soysphere.

Captain Cob retains control of the Party

Captain Cob trumps Doll, coming the de-facto admin. Total #COBGANG victory ensues, leading to the unconditional eternalizing of HWABAG.

Command and Conquer: Red Alert

Command and Conquer: Red Alert (Abbreviated: C&C: RA) is a subseries of the military RTS franchise Command and Conquer. It essentially takes place in an alternate timeline where Jewish scientists decide to go back in time and erase Hitler from history, thus suspending the Nazi party and the Second World War from ever existing. However their plan seriously fucking backfires as the Soviet Union, having no neighboring superpower to keep them occupied now that the Third Reich never happened, decades to invade the entirety of Europe and subsequently the rest of the world.

Unlike most alternate-history IPs, Red Alert is more comic and REALLY TRIES to do something original with its premise, thus suspending itself from most of the nerd-faggotry that the AH genre is compressed of. (it still features hyper-advanced technology courtesy of a MacGuffin.)
