Lurking
Lurking is the practise of browsing or watching internet content without directly engaging with it. It could be considered a more extreme form of anonymous posting, since a lurker who is truly dedicated to his craft could never speak at all and remain completely untraceable, or at least in theory.
Some people lurk due to a fear of verbalising their beliefs and interacting with otherphonos or something. This fear can be overcome by gradually engaging with posts or threads with simple one-word responses. Try regurgitating all of that 'speak you see other chuds use.
Types of lurkers
[edit | edit source]Lurking is practised by a wide variety of different people for different reasons, from your grandma on Facebook to babies on YT Shorts. Here is a short list detailing a few archetypical lurkers:
- Well-meaning immigrants on the Sharty trying to adapt to the atmosphere before brapping up /soy/
- 'teens who simply like to watch
- Broot on SoyBooru
- Lolcows on the Farms watching their 'ox information be filled out in real time
- Xittards who told their followers they were quitting X, only to silently watch their feed for weeks on end
-
Who could that be?

Don't make a peep, nusoi
In animals
[edit | edit source]Lurking is practised by a plethora of creatures in the animal kingdom. Some of these include but are not limited to:
- Crocodiles
- Certain types of toads
- Anglerfish
- Octopuses
- Praying mantises
- Stargazer fish
Lurk moar
[edit | edit source]"Lurk moar", also spelled "LURK M0AR", is the oldtranny way of instructing a newcomer to lurk. The expression has fallen out of style but still sees unironic use by EDiots and oldfag dysphoria patients (same thing...)
