Chromebooks are laptops that are developed by Jewgle as a way to expand xheir jewish desire into the computer industry. Chromebooks are very limited and is ridden with datamining apps like google chrome albeit xhey claim it's good for gaming. Schools often hand these laptops to cacas at school because it's cheap.

It is a pinnacle of soyboy consumerism. Total submissions to Corporate overlords, done by people themselves.

Technical information

By it's nature, chromebooks are "optimised" for use of web applications, which means it uses the most shit hardware possible. Don't even think about launching a game that was released after 2005 on this piece of crap.

It runs on ChromeOS, despite being made by Jewgle, it's actually pretty good and lightweight. It's built on Linux kernel. Obviously proprietary.

Chromebook constantly runs Google Chrome browser in the background. Users are also usually forced to use a google account 24/7, and use Chrome web store.

They are also pretty durable and have many replaceable parts.

Chromebooks are basically ThinkPads, but worse.

Crostini

You can turn on "Linux development environment" in the settings, which will make the Chromebook automatically install a Debian fork which will allow you to launch Debian (and therefore most Linux) based apps and APIs.

Installing other OSs

You can install other Operating Systems on Chromebooks as well, but the support will be worse than compared to a regular laptop, and WILL cause a lot of fuckery. Your uni/school will also probably punish you for doing so^{[unless you bought a Chromebook for personal use]}. You need to disable the write protection and get some sort of firmware off the internet. You can ask /tech/GODS for further information since almost every case is going to be unique.

Chromebooks allow it's users to dual-boot but it's also going to be worse than a dual-boot on a usual laptop.
