TLDR: There's a script on archive.today to make your browser silently spam requests to a certain site, with the intention of using the combined traffic of all archive.today vistors to DDoS that site. Do not visit archive.today/archive.ph/archive.is/etc with javascript enabled. Rearchive all archive.ph links to megalodon.jp wherever you see them.

WebM
.webm is a file extension that was created by the chosen people and has since been adopted and frequently utilized by us mortals. Some theorize that over 80% of videos on the internet are now formatted as a .webm, many of them coincidently being the EXACT video that you want to upload to imageboards such as soyjak.party. [stop posting brainrot videos that you found on jewtube shorts]

History[edit | edit source]
The people who control the internet made .webm in May 2010 as a replacement for the video file formats (even though those two formats were fine despite all the memes that people made about them around the time).[1]
Why it's amazing[edit | edit source]
.webm is not a supported file format on iPhone, which most phones use. The reason why it isn't compatible is that it's an absolute bitch to encode and decode these files. Look up "The seven layers of OSI." I don't really have the patience to explain this. Also, for some reason, the lossy-ness of these images[wut] is off the charts level of bad, which ironically Google was trying to fix.
Getting around it[edit | edit source]
Buy an Android.[Ev&o my Mom pays for my phone bill and I can't just switch phones all willy nilly]
HOWEVERTHOUGHFOREBEIT, if you have an iPhone you can just play webms on the VLC app or just convert it to mp4 with literally any free converter and then download it.
Getting around it: a version for Android users[edit | edit source]
Step 1: Click the little triangle.
Step 2: Congratulations! Now you can mock iPhone users for being unable to see brainrot videos on bald men with glasses site.
