IT'S JUST GETTING STARTED
Soyvil War 5 Theme Song
Since July 28, 2026, the Soysphere has been embroiled in an ongoing conflict known as Soyvil War 5, or the July Revolution. The conflict arose from several different events, such as the Furcord leaks, Smuglet controversy, and a change to Rule 2, which allowed "pedophilic jokes", provoking widespread user outrage.
Background
Furcord leak
Main article: Furcord leak
On July 28, the Furcord leaks prompted backlash within the Soysphere. Some users, already unhappy with Mustard and his previous conduct, made numerous threads digging through the leaks, turning them into a major topic of discussion. The Furcord leaks are considered one of the key issues that led to the fifth Soyvil War.
SoyBooru Smuglet problem
Main article: Smuglet
Smuglet is a highly controversial nuvariant that originated on June 6, 2026. On June 26, Warrior-Z banned funkydealer for posting a BBC edit variant of Smuglet, which would be reversed by Mustard with little to no explanation, causing frustration in the userbase.
On July 27, reuploads of those edits posted by Glisterald resulted in further outrage, and even more after the Furcord leaks showed a message in which he said, "Smuglet is built for BBC", although he would say that his intentions were to get the variant banned.
name046284 would also get banned for posting a BBC edit variant of Smuglet on July 31 by Warrior-Z, but they also got their ban reversed by Mustard, to the dismay of the userbase[1].
Some users on the Booru and Mustard have stepped in an "attempt" to elaborate on the situation and defend it. However, users are nonetheless upset with the variant.
Rule 2

On July 30, 2026, Rule 2 was altered to remove the ban on "pedophilic jokes", this was met with immediate backlash from every sane user and increased calls for the Fifth Soyvil War[2]. Although "people" still got 'nished for pedophile jokes.
Before the change, the rule read:
You WILL NOT post, promote, or advocate for pedophilia or pedophilic content, including pedophilic jokes.
Sexual depictions of "loli", "shota", or other pubescent and prepubescent characters are FORBIDDEN.
After the change, it reads:
You WILL NOT post, promote, or advocate for pedophilia or pedophilic content, including pedophilic jokes.
Sexual depictions of "loli", "shota", or other pubescent and prepubescent characters are FORBIDDEN.
Warrior-Z's declaration of war
On July 30, Warrior-Z declared war against Smuglet posters, baitcord, and Furcord, beginning the conflict. Some users supported Warrior-Z's actions[3][more references needed].
Events
Attempts to distract
On the same day, Mustard announced the Boorubux system, which some argued turned the Booru into a gambling site. This caused uproar, leading to some Booru users getting distracted, until someone made a thread pointing it out that was later 404'd.[4].
A supposed self-dox was posted by a guy from Tennessee called Liam S. Douglas, which did work as a temporary distraction[it just is, ok?snopes?it just is, ok?how???whatbut... why?]. Whether this was an attempt to distract from Furcord or not is unknown. Some users speculate that Liam S. Douglas is Glisterald himself.[it just is, ok?snopes?it just is, ok?how???whatbut... why?]
Several (((bait))) threads by autisticnigger1488 and other Soygem Pass posters have also been alleged to be distractions. They commonly consist of Smuglet and FPE SNCA.
Soysphere shutdown

On July 29, the entire soysphere went down, including soyjak.party. Only the Shroom was immune to this. This caused further frustration. Users were unsure why, after such a big drama, everything went down.
Once again on July 30, the 'ru shut down again, due to the same Cloudflare 1033 tunnel error. The reasons as to why they happen has not been established.
Soysphere spam and catty wiping
The entirety of /soy/ has been catty wiped numerous times during the war. Spam on /soy/ and the IRC has been consistent. The Ban list is filled with rule 5 and 13 bans.
The massive clitty leakage started on /soy/ and the IRC due to the change of rule 2[5].
Later, the PPH would slowly drop. But with the catty still mainly wiped, save for a few normalish threads, and a brimstone thread made by the baitcord[6]. Jannies would catty wipe soy, removing protest threads. A lot of anti-quote and anti-mustard posts are moved to /q/.
Spam has been utilized continuously, especially copypasta spam, notably the "Kill Quote" copypasta.
Someone claiming to be Quote's boyfriend emerged, which became a nu 'pasta to spam[7].
There has been increased advertising for various splinters.
One teen began posting some sick ass Hitler edits[8].
PPH crisis
As the war has continues, the PPH of /soy/ has dramatically declined, with it getting below 100 PPH during eurohours and 300 PPH during mutt hours[it just is, ok?snopes?it just is, ok?how???whatbut... why?], possibly caused by soyteens fleeing to splinters or not being as motivated to post. It should be noted that, since marge.moe shut down, it has been harder to track the decline.
Other events
MarketPliers leak and retirement
MarketPliers dropped a massive NVKE by posting baitcord leaks[9].
MarketPliers would later be 'nished temporarily for "violating Rule 3", even though xe posted a link to a non-splinter page. Mustard's poor communication resulted in a "ban war" until she was unbanned. Despite this, xe retired from the Soysphere.
Mustard suspends porn uploads on SoyBooru
On August 1, Mustard suspended "pornographic uploads" on the Booru until August 10. Supporters of Warrior-Z, or those wanting to see porn removed from the Booru, quickly celebrated this move[10].
Further derailing attempts
There have been some derailing attempts during the war.
Notable attempts include:
- 'teens got distracted by Femquote porn in anti-quote thread[11]. An hour later, a South African posted a picture of his monitor cowered in cum with the femquote porn picture. He got 'nished quickly, leaving the rest of the thread shocked[12]. Following this, multiple other 'teens would become obsessed with femquote.
- On July 31, Cobson would meet his end in combat during Soyvil War 5. He was shot multiple times with a M16 type rifle, according to military and local officials[13].
Admin 6 supposedly comes out and says that he is going to shutdown the party on August 1, 2026 at 15:00 UTC, doebeit this is most likely false but who knows.Never happened award
16888888 GET taken by anti-Quotists
On August 1, anti-Quotists stole the 16888888 GET on /soy/, a win for the anti-Quotists[14].
The Vandalization of TheCatalan1977's page
On August 2, Dove makes a thread calling out TheCatalan1977 with him editing his page to feature child pornography and diapers on his list of things he likes.[15] It is likely Dove did this for quick gegs but many users driven by Quote's big boot used this against Catalan threatening to ban him, unexpectedly it got absolutely nowhere.
BBC
On August 2, 2026, a user posted an explicit BBC thread to /soy/. Despite the strict rules which typically flag and remove pornographic threads within minutes, this particular unspoilered thread remained visible and unmoderated for 43 minutes[it just is, ok?snopes?it just is, ok?how???whatbut... why?]. The extended visibility triggered significant backlash from users, with many expressing frustration over Quote and the apparent inconsistency in enforcement. Many pointed out that similar pornographic content was habitually removed almost immediately, raising questions about why this thread had slipped through the moderation queue. The delayed removal sparked outrage about moderator attentiveness and whether certain content types were receiving preferential treatment. When the thread was finally taken down, the damage to community trust had already been done, with numerous users spamming /soy/ with threads asking to just shut it down[16].
