Take everything written below with a grain of soy, as while Soot and lolkek's testimonies match the statements of other wojchan oldfags, due to link rot and the enormous time gap there are no actual archives of wojchan in existence despite being a popular site.

The Pre-Soot era is the time during which soyjak.party's precursor site, wojchan.net, operated. It lasted from 2010 to 2016. Similarly to Shrekchan, little is known about wojchan, as most oldfags have simply moved on by now. A Wojak wiki existed in the past which would have stored most of the information about the site, however, after the Wojpocalypse in 2016 it went down with seemingly nobody managing to archive it. With the databases wiped out, the little we do know about this imageboard comes from the testimonies of the remaining oldfags, primarily Soot, who used the site in its last year of existence, alongside Lolkek.

/woj/ - Wojaks

/woj/ was the main board of wojchan. It had around 630,000 posts before the Wojcopalypse.

/troll/ - Rage Comics

/troll/ was the secondary board of wojchan. It hosted original rage comics and faces. /troll/ users disliked /woj/ users for being younger than them and would often raid their board.

/pol/ - Politics

/pol/ was the main board for discussing politics. It was deleted by M9MK in October 2014 in fear of 4chan /pol/ migrants taking over the site, something which had nearly occurred under Laird. The board was later reinstated under Zole, which led to this exact scenario happening.

/q/ - Meta

/q/, originally known as /nu/ was wojchan's meta board. As it got populated by 4chan /q/ migrants, it eventually lost its original topic and turned into something comparable to the Sharty's /qa/.

/h/ - History

/h/ was added in 2015. It hosted the earliest form of Historical wojak posting. It also replaced /w/ as the place for wiki discussions.

History (2010-2015)

Wojchan was created in 2010 as a splinter of 4chan. It branched off due to the userbase's general dissatistaction with the site (4cuck was totally gonna die any day now and not live on for another 16 years) as well as the ostracization of wojaks and trollface. Do note that around this time wojaks were primarily a krautchan meme and hadn't yet spread that much. The exact date and circumstances are unknown, but the catalyst is generally agreed to be the implementation of post number truncation on /b/, which killed GETs and dubs on the board. This event led to the creation of wojaks.net a month later (the domain was changed at an unknown time to wojchan.net) by an anonymous individual known only under the name of Tea.

Tea

Tea was the first administrator and the founding father of wojchan.net, running the site from 2010 to 2013. Tea had the idea for a new imageboard for at least a few years prior to wojchan's creation, but didn't have the money or technical experience to actually run one until 2010. During this time he got involved with Jolt, who assisted him in setting up the site and became Tea's first developer. At the time, wojaks were a relatively fresh and unknown meme, in which Tea claims to have seen enormous potential. The existence of wojchan.net is likely to have been instrumental in popularizing them across the Internet. Tea was a laissez faire administrator who encouraged the site's culture to develop on its own. This could be seen in the creation of /troll/ - Rage Comics shortly after the site's launch, as around this time most users just posted trollface and didn't even know what wojaks were. He also set up the first instance of wojchan's wiki named Wojak Wiki, which is now lost to time. The ruleset was noticably lax, which eventually led Jolt to show his true colors and caused wojchan's first true crisis. Following Jolt's removal, Tea had begun to get bored of the site and by the end of 2013 left it for good. He sold it to an ex-4chan moderator named Laird, who around this time was organizing a migration wave from 4chan's /q/ to wojchan.

Tea, as the name would imply, self-inserted as tea and would anonymously but recognizably blogpost about it. This led many to believe he was British, unlike the rest of the American mod team, which in addition to his obsession revolving tea made for a great way to ragebait him. Some users also theorized that he was a German from krautchan or even the original Polish wojakposter as nobody else could have been this obsessed about wojaks, but these theories have yet to be proven.

Jolt was a pedophilic wojchan dev who helped Tea set up the site, but later started to abuse his power and eventually got demoted in mid-2013 for being a pedo and a lazy coder. He banned everyone he didn't like while leaving 'p on the 'log and often got into fights with the rest of the mod team. He also spammed 'p on the board himself after he got banned. He added random pages that's JUST LIKE MUH HECKIN REDDIT CREEPYPASTARINOS OR WHATEVER

Jolt reminds me of a very particular individual. Can't quite place my finger on what his name was though.

Why did he get banned?

TL;DR: Jolt asked his mum if he could live with wojchan jannies and his mum said no. Geg.

"I won't get into details, but one of the decisions was that the [wojchan mod] team (not the most important), which was an e-team of people randomly distributed all around the USA, was to move in together in a flat in NYC a la Friends so it would be easier to get the coding and the managing a lot easier. Plus it made sense as a lot of posters were to start college the year after and NYC was definitely an option. So after the convention they all went to their parents (lol kids) and "came out" to their mom. The bottom line is Jolt's mom got scared and said you're moving with your auntie and uncle in bel-air. And that's all there is to it."

Jolt's story is likely to be fabricated due to him being a rather obvious copy of W.T. Snacks (I copypasted this wiki's entry on him here geg). Even then, a couple oldfags mentioned the existence of an individual who went by this name and even recounted parts of this very story. At the end of it, the more reasonable explanation is that it was just the Mandela effect taking place. If anything, at least some parts of this story are true.

Laird

Laird was a former 4chan moderator who was fired by moot after warning users on /q/ about his intent to delete the board. This was due to /q/ having turned into a SFW /b/, just like how /qa/ later did itself.

Soon after Laird was fired, but not before advertising wojchan as a safe haven on /q/. This caused a large migration wave, much to the dismay of wojchan oldfags. Laird acquired wojchan in late 2013 from Tea, who was looking for a way out ever since the Jolt incident, for an undisclosed sum.

Laird's administration quickly caused unrest, as the /q/ users he brought alongside him refused to assimilate and instead started to push out the old userbase of wojchan. This was further fueled by Laird intending to effectively turn wojchan into a new home for /q/triots (this word did not carry the same meaning as it does now meds now). However, this all came to a close when Laird seemingly realised the error of his ways and decided to rename /nu/, wojchan's meta board into /q/, diverting his migrants to occupy that board instead. This eased most of the tensions and saved Laird's reputation.

After this event, Laird distanced himself from the website, only posting every so often just to check in. This culminated in him leaving without a trace in mid-2014, causing a high deal of confusion amongst everyone and especially the /q/ migrants. The new admin, M9MK, refused to comment on the details of his acquisition of the site or what had happened to Laird, which led many to believe this was just a gayop or some other larp. The exact details of this event are unknown to this day.

M9MK

M9MK was the 3rd official administrator of wojchan.net and was generally regarded to be the best admin in the site's history. He was the first one to have a wojitical party, whose followers were known as "9ineists". He served as administrator from mid-2014 up until the end of 2015.

M9MK's reign began with distrust as he onboarded offsiters like Melon, þoot, Sheenguy and Zole as developers and moderators. Melon banned /raid/ and raiding in general, but this was soon reverted, with M9MK even starting some raids of his own later on. M9MK took a more direct approach at moderation by encouraging doxes, banning demoralizers & spammers and leaking the IPs of 4channycvck 'p spammers. As a result of these policies, the site's activity surged and its identity steered away from being the offbrand 4cvck into something of its own. Notable events during this era were ISISposting, porn spammers being banned, Moon Man, Newgrounds colonization, MLGposting, the prolification of Biggie Cheese memes, Shrekchan trolling and the start of frogposting.

Among M9MK's more controversial decisions were the banning of NAW (Not A Wojak) on /woj/ alongside the deletion of /b/ & banning of all pornposters during the Spring of 2015. The resulting exiles split between 2 boards: trollposters fled to /troll/ and instigated the Troll-Jak wars, whereas most other NAW posters took refuge in /q/, which had by that time shifted away from being a 4cuck bunker and became more of a general discussion board reminiscent of the Sharty's /qa/. This ruling stayed in place for the remainder of M9MK's reign.

Early during M9MK's tenure, the site adopted the usage of wojaks as a way of making fun of hipsters, who were the progenitors of soyboys. Such images are nowadays considered proto-IAS, as they eventually led to the creation of soyjaks by the Swede in 2017.

In addition to the Wojak Wiki, M9MK maintained the Soybooru's precursor site Wojbooru. Its ruleset was very lax and users were permitted to upload pretty much whatever they wanted, so long as it wasn't porn. He also set up the wojIRC and an Official YouTube Account for the site sometime early during his reign.

M9MK stepped down in late 2015 following his marriage and handed the site over to Zole, which was possibly his greatest mistake. Due to the similarity of their policies and the circumstances in which they left their sites, M9MK is widely considered to be the ancestor to Froot.

Melon

Melon was a former developer and moderator on wojchan.net. Hated for his dislike of raiding, this led to wojteens 'oxxing xim and finding out on his facebook account xhe had down syndrome GEEEEEG. M9MK would step in and prevent further 'oxing of xim. He left on October 18th, 2016.

Sheenguy

Sheenguy was a French wojchan moderator hired in November 2014, who was best known for being an enormous lolcow. He was an autistic gooner who would constantly ERP on the IRC and obsess about hating FNAF. Sheenguy's spergy reactions led to the creation of "sheenbaiting", which was infamous during the M9MK era. Despite being hated, Sheen was still a moderator before the Wojpocalypse. His attitude could be compared to Jimbo's. He also allegedly had a YouTube channel, but the videos had nothing to do with the site and were just shitposting; however, the channel did show us that Sheen's voice sounded like an autistic ESL caca, which only gave wojteens more ways to make fun of him.

History (2016 and the Wojpocalypse)

Zole

Zole was the 4th and final administrator of wojchan. Officially becoming an admin sometime in late 2015 following M9MK's resignation, he had a very mixed reputation due to the turbulent period during which he owned the site, though in comparison to the previous admins he was generally considered to be the worst. Serving as admin for the entirety of 2016, he initially ran the site with guiding hand of M9MK, who left upon having taught Zole everything he knew. Zole's policies revolved around encouraging NAW, with frogs, Chuck Norris and annoying orange taking a rather prominent role. As a result, 9ineists began to hate Zole and his laissez faire outlook on the party, not even remembering this is exactly what Tea first intended for the website. Despite the change in ownership, due to more people having access to the internet via smartphones, wojchan.net's user count began to swiftly increase.

During the 2016 elections, a large amount of normies surged to 4chan's /pol/, causing a great deal of unrest. As a result, many 4chan refugees would wind up on wojchan's shores. They didn't care about wojchan's culture and refused to integrate, instead opting to set up their own threads and the first wojcords. This enormous influx of pedophilic 4cucks combined with Zole's unrulescucked perspective caused the majority of wojchan's userbase to splinter away and by the time Zole noticed what was happening, it was already too late. Nearing the end of 2016, wojchan.org was already a shell of its former self, populated by 4cucks with no respect for its original premise and wojcorders who were only interested in spamming 'p.

The Wojpocalypse occurred on Christmas Eve, when the website was spammed with 'p by a bot across all boards following a leak of its source code a few days prior. Since Zole was enjoying time with his family and most of his jannies had already splintered away, nothing was done about this spam for an entire day. Soon after he had noticed what was happening, Zoot locked the site for maintenance, but it was never unlocked again and eventually began to return a 404 error. The same fate befell the Wojak Wiki and Wojbooru and the Wojchan YouTube Channel getting terminated a few days later, which nobody bothered to archive, as anybody who cared about wojchan had by this time already left.

Allegedly, the last post on wojchan.net was "But does he hate SpongeBob?", which referenced Sheenguy's self insert looking like Squidward.

Such was the fate of Wojchan. One could hope that the sharty does not die like this as well.

Aftermath

Many oldfag wojchanners consider Soot to be the reincarnation of Tea or M9MK, despite the 4 year gap and shift in culture. Since Soot created the Sharty in 2020, 4 years after wojchan died out, soyjak.party is considered to be the spiritual successor to wojchan.net.
