PHP is an old loosely-typed general-purpose coding language created by Rasmus Lerdorf for his Personal Home Page. It later became a powerful server-side language for websites such as soyjak.party, 4cuck, and this very wiki. The acronym for PHP later became “PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor”. You can embed PHP code in HTML, just make sure the filename ends in ".php".

It is very compatible and can be used with a lot of DB languages.
