Web browser usage share from 2009 to 2025

A web browser, or simply a browser, is an application that you use to visit your favorite Soysphere sites and any other SNCA sites. Browsers function by retrieving a web page's files from a web server and displaying them to the user via a rendering engine. There are several web browsers, but almost all of them are based on one of three engines (Blink, Gecko, or WebKit) since developing a new browser engine in current year is incredibly difficult. The vast majority of normies either use Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari, with roughly two-thirds of people using Chrome.

Gemmy Browsers[edit | edit source]

When using hardened browsers on the sharty, the (((System))) VVILL eventually ban you by mistaking you for 'cordpedos who were banned while using a hardened browser and Joons VVILL NOT unban (You).

These browsers are well-made and private. You should use them to visit the Sharty and its xister sites.

Gecko-based[edit | edit source]

  • LibreWolf - Basically Firefox without all the bullshit. Heavily hardened and security-focused.
  • Tor Browser - Routes all traffic through the Tor network, based off of Firefox.
  • Mullvad Browser - Deletes all history and cookies when you close the browser and includes several built-in security features. Intended to be used in conjunction with Mullvad VPN but can be used on its own.

Iron Browsers[edit | edit source]

These browsers don't necessarily have any anti-features but they aren't considered the best.

Blink-based[edit | edit source]

  • Brave - Built-in ad blocker, built-in VPN,[probably a glowie honeypot doebeit] several security features. Created by the guy who invented JavaScript who now regrets doing so. Said creator also made trannies seethe or something.🗝️ Has a little bloat with a bunch of crypto SNCA.
  • Ungoogled Chromium - Chromium without Google shit, but no additional features.
  • Vivaldi - Super customizable and claims to be private, but it's proprietary so there's no way to verify. It is said that you can find shit Vivaldi cares about there.

Gecko-based[edit | edit source]

Most of these are just Firefox forks that barely change anything.

  • Firefox - Normies use this when they want to feel different. Is free and open-source but includes telemetry. Also the devs are a bunch of trannies. Use arkenfox. Despite what you may have heard, it's actually a good browser.[ev&doe the troon developers want to deplatform everyone they don't like]
  • Waterfox - Essentially just Firefox without telemetry.
  • Pale Moon - Based on an old version of Firefox. Le heckin retro.
  • GNU IceCat - Intended to be a fully free version of Firefox without proprietary shit.
  • Floorp - No telemetry and lots of customization. Made in Japan.
  • SeaMonkey - Lightweight, designed for less powerful systems.
  • K-Meleon - Intended for 32-bit Windows operating systems. Not useful on newer computers.
  • FireDragon - Included with Garuda Linux. Nobaldi uses this.

WebKit-based[edit | edit source]

  • GNOME Web (Formerly Epiphany) - Private but not many features. Many sites break since it's a non-standard web browser. Intended to be used as a component of the GNOME desktop environment.
  • Konqueror - Intended to be used as part of the KDE desktop environment. Also functions as a file manager. Probably the oldest graphical web browser still in active development. Its KHTML engine later became the basis for WebKit and eventually Blink, meaning most modern browsers indirectly descend from it.
  • Surf - An extensible, minimalist browser based on WebKit2/GTK+. Since it is developed by suckless, it is distributed via a git repository and it needs to be compiled locally.

Coal Browsers[edit | edit source]

These browsers are all proprietary spyware and should not be used.

Blink-based[edit | edit source]

  • Google Chrome - Literal Google spyware. Most normies use it.
    • Chromium - Google spyware but open source.
  • Microsoft Edge - Included with Windows. Replaced Internet Explorer. Most people only use it to install another web browser and never touch it again.
  • Opera - Chinese shit. Also the X account for Opera GX posts unfunny Reddit tranny humor.
  • Samsung Internet - Included on Samsung devices. Nobaldi actually uses it.
  • UC Web - Chinese shit. Popular in South Asia and Mali for some reason.
  • Silk - Included on Amazon Kindle devices.

WebKit-based[edit | edit source]

  • Safari - Included with all Apple systems and unavailable on other platforms.

Honorable Mention[edit | edit source]

  • Ladybird - In active development, not ready for daily use. Fully custom open-source browser engine with no proprietary code. Only for MacOS and Linux currently but will have a Windows version in the future.
