This is a Swedish win!

Mullvad is a Swedish internet privacy company best known for their VPN service. The company is considered a gem due to its strict privacy standards. Accounts are completely anonymous, their VPN services do not keep logs, payment information is not retained,[a] their DNS servers do not log requests, and account activity is not logged beyond the number of simultaneous connections.[1] The company has also engaged in activism, including campaigning against proposed EU laws that would enable surveillance. One of their founders also donated to an anti-immmigration party.🗝️

Mullvad VPN

[edit | edit source]

Mullvad VPN is Mullvad's flagship product. It costs €5 per month (ev&doe Sweden doesn't use Euros) and you can prepay multiple months at a time. In addition to Euros, they accept US Dollars, Pound Sterling, Swedish Krona, Australian Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Lightning, and Monero. Cryptocurrency payments receive a 10% discount.

Currently, Mullvad only supports WireGuard connections. Several privacy features are built in, including quantum resistant encryption, Defense against AI-guided Traffic Analysis, and multihop.

Mullvad Browser

[edit | edit source]

Mullvad Browser is a web browser based on Firefox developed in collaboration with the Tor project. Mullvad Browser does not collect telemetry, exclusively uses private mode, resists fingerprinting, and isolates cookies. It also includes an add-on that checks your Mullvad VPN connectivity status, though you do not need to use the VPN to use the browser.

Mullvad Leta

Mullvad Leta is deader than the Jarty...Cause of Death: They didn't want to maintain it o algo

(You) can help by using was/were pronouns and updating the page to make it better reflect the project's death.

Mullvad Leta was a search engine that served as an anonymous proxy for Google and Brave Search. It was shut down on November 27, 2025, with no reason given other than that the search industry was undergoing big changes and Leta would not be able to keep up.[2]

Mullvad DNS

[edit | edit source]
It's slowing down...My peer-reviewed studies indicate that it's not over yet...
But it is slowing down drastically, which may lead to it being OVER.

Mullvad DNS is a free DNS over HTTPS and DNS over TLS service that has content-blocking filters, including filters for porn sites and known malware sites. In 2026, it was announced that Mullvad DNS would shut down on November 2 of that year, because they are unnecessary when using the VPN and the company wanted to instead sponsor Quad9, another company that solely specializes in DNS servers (ev&doe Quad9's content blocking isn't nearly as good as Mullvad's).[3]

Notes

  1. ↑ The company stores the payment date and the account number for twenty days to allow refunds. Credit card, PayPal, Swish, and bank wire payments are recorded by their respective payment processors, but the only information available is that you made a payment to Mullvad.
