Neutralplier smells like bait.Neutralplier (also known as Soyjak 20 (Neutral Face) or Front Facing No Smile Cobson) is a Markiplier Soyjak subvariant best known for being spammed by blogposters with boring lives on /soy/, as it is a substitute for Pepe. It's one of the main severe symptoms of self-insert syndrome.

Much like Pepe, Neutralplier can be described as a generic reaction image that doesn't display any specific emotion, which makes both incredibly versatile for use on any situation, specially creating threads on imageboards which usually need an image to be posted. This means Neutralplier is specially useful as a default whenever the user wants to make a thread while being unable to think of a relevant image to attach. These factors make Neutralplier an obvious choice for self-inserting and creating blog threads, which eventually lead to the variant's infamy for being used in bait, where users would write outrageous threads with a generic Neutralplier attached to it, both to satirize 'plier blogposts and upset other users for the low quality spam. The punchline often relies on the fact that such cringe inducing text is accompanied by such a mundane image, alternatively, the Neutralplier can represent the viewer itself, which is left without expression trying to process the embarassing text seen at the screen.
