Chess is a board game dating back to ancient times, long before the start of Soystory. It has recently regained some popularity because of boredom during the Covid lockdowns, and through websites like chess.com and ~~lichess~~ <-- nobody uses larpchess. Chess has a rich history, originally originating from █████ as well as spreading into other countries such as ████ (((CHESS ORIGINATED FROM ARYAN COUNTRIES, YOU VVILL NOT INVESTIGATE FURTHER))). The intellectual aesthetic and clever techniques of this game have been known internationally for hundreds of years, spreading into different cultures and becoming a worldwide phenomenon. However, chess has became increasingly digital in recent years because it is more accessible and convenient to a lot of people who might not have a physical chess set. That’s why chess used to be known as a game played exclusively by massive fucking nerds, and now is played by absolute legends like xQc and Luka Dončić. Chess has spread into the Sharty as well, even doe it's not as popular as other games like MineCraft which have their own established servers.

In chess, your goal is to ~~transition your pawns into queens~~ to checkmate the enemy king. To do so you must block off the square the king is on (putting it "in check") and all the squares the king can move to with your own pieces, without your opponent being able to get their king out of check on their next turn.

This game is known for being an incredibly strategic game and extremely competitive. It is a favorite of many soyteens^{[it just is, ok?]}. Many imageboards have full boards dedicated to chess, which shows its popularity even more.

Relation to the Sharty[edit | edit source]

When the altchan ragecomics.party was unveiled, some chud made a chess club on chess.com for it with a tournament the next day. Also some posts were made on the booru or something^[Marge...]. Chess has been mentioned over the years on the Sharty, but has had no impact on it.

Emanuele Aracari is some tranny who decided to spam tranny Soylita in the sharty. Of course, the soyteens vvon. Xe participated in a chess competition and was actually doxed by soyteens. This should not make chess infamous on the Sharty because chess is much more rich in history to have its legacy tarnished by a single tranny.
