Soyjak Wiki:Gradingcaust (detractor perspective)
Read every revision in the page's history to learn the truth.
The Gradingcaust is the coal that killed- (USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS PO -AAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCKKKKK!!!)
The Gradingcaust is a useless nigger change made by this very wiki's admins on January 13-15, 2026. Previously, pages would say that their own topic was gemmy, coally, iron, or any exaggeration of those three. However, Cobblestone announced that she would be removing all these templates
, claiming varying reasons explored in the obsessed cuck points section of this article.[1] Oddly enough, Quote had no involvement in this at all. His drama would begin two weeks later.
Cobblestones decision was immediately met with backlash which she completely ignored, her main motive for orchestrating the gradingcaust is because she considered grading a form of "information control", not realizing that a grading merely represents the public opinion of the page itself and does not change its contents whatsoever. It can be argued that grading has caused massive edit wars, but that's simply because of some obsessed faggot self inserting his own opinion that is clearly not representitive of what the soysphere believes.
It is the worst event in wiki history, and basically led to the Wiki becoming Niggerhell.
What it’s done to the wiki[edit | edit source]
This useless nigger change has raped the soul of the wiki. The bot for it has gone rogue and some of the funniest templates on the wiki were deleted because of it. It’s even hated by most members of the entire Soysphere, and it caused tons of problems on this wiki.
To make matters worse, edit wars are still a problem, so this change was basically for nothing.🔒 It also made three users go rogue and attempt a plot against it to attempt to reverse it. They were all subsequently banned for vandalism. Two of them were later permablocked for ban evasion.
>But-t Why do You Care so M-AAAAAAACK!!!
[edit | edit source]
That's a good question actually, if we are supposed to not care about such a 'party destroying change, WHY DID YOU CARE TO REMOVE GRADINGS IN THE FIRST PLACE IF "it's not such a big issue?". When we ask to reverse it, "doesnt matter bro leave it behind", but when you deleted it "Duuuude this is so important bro we cant leave heckin bad gradings in the past".
About this event[edit | edit source]
>The wiki should not present or try to control public opinion, it must ideally only present information and allow readers to come to their own conclusion.
>Topic quality templates are a catalyst for useless edit wars.
>Topic qualities are subjective, and reflect only the opinion of the latest editor to edit the page. Just because someone thinks something is coal or a gem doesn't mean that the wiki should cater to their opinion. If someone has good reason to grade a topic, they may just edit the article itself to prove their viewpoint.
A bot was created to remove broken links resulting from this, and it made over 1,500 edits in one day, surpassing even Cob herself on the leaderboard. Unsurprisingly, this caused mass seethe, with some editors opposing it.
Obsessed cuck points[edit | edit source]
- Readers should form their own perspective on a topic instead of needing someone else's opinion told to them.
- It incentivises edit wars, check Quote and Ongezellig's edit history, you'll find a lot of edits that are mostly just changing the rating template
- Their usecase is weak, because it's just a preview of the page's content or contradictory to it (Not a single example was used btw)
- Most rating templates were just duplicates of existing ones but intended to be more extreme, despite the templates' substance still being "someone thinks this is good/bad". None of them had any dividing lines between them in usecase, resulting in useless edits because someone disagreed with whether something is brimstone or vantablack or whatever "I dislike this" template they feel like using.
- Saves screen real estate for actually pertinent content about the topic itself, rather than some arbitrary opinion presented before or without any reasoning.
- If something is considerably good or bad then the article itself should already make it clear without needing a template.
TRVKE points[edit | edit source]
- Gradings represent merely the public opinion about the topic, not a forced belief everyone necessarily possesses.
- Their usecase is absolutely relevant to the page's tone and feelings about the topic, I don't know how you could ever claim otherwise.
- Edit wars still exist no matter what, disputes happen due to the content of a page, not its grading anyways, making the change worthless.
- Removing them is opposed by the majority of soyteens[2][3].
- They were integral to the wiki's culture.
- The templates signal the general opinion of soyteens.
- Removing {{CustomQuality}} raped a lot of informative one-off headers. [it just did, ok???] It doesnt need citation, informing of the quality of a page, indeed, DOES INFORM OF THE QUALITY OF THE PAGE.
- Edit wars will merely take up entire pages as opposed to the template spam that the Gradingcaust is SUPPOSED to prevent. Even if this would result in users blocked, users could also just be blocked for template spam if the template spam itself was enough to warrant genocide of all quality templates.
- Nusois actually use this shit to get a general overview of the perception of certain contents on the Sharty, but the majority dont base their opinion around it.
- The Soyjak Wiki is ultimately not a soulless, rulecucked 'ki like wikipedia with the same stupid policies and fun-hating jannies.
