The Namefag Purge was a ban wave that took place on Nov 22, 2024, when Doll announced[1] that a user had informed him of a 130-person[2] discord server made up of namefags and splinter users. Every single one of these members was hit with a Rule 3 ban on all official Soysphere sites. Discussion about the purge would be moved to /qa/ to prevent the cordniggers from getting any more attention than necessary.
Notable users to be affected by this ban were Joel, Hamas_2, Mikobowl[3], and FerdinandDist[4]. This marked the largest Discord crackdown since the Qafe, and was hoped to set the sharty up for a period with much less 'cord activity.[5]
