Guatemala is a third-world shithole country in Central America (the part of America that isn't even America). It borders Mexico (to the north and west), El Salvador (to the southeast), and Belize (some random British leftover that nobody cares about).
It's mostly known in the Soysphere as well as on 4chan, for being the place where Homer Simpson got that sweet red sports car from in that one episode Nophono cares about, when asked in the Sneed's Feed & Seed store. Making Guatemala the first Latin American on being a IAS Or something.

Ummmm, so ummm, sacrifices and building pyramids and shit. Then the Spanish showed up and turned it into a catholic mix mess just like the rest of South/Central America (Except for Argentina + such information that i got from the El Salvador article) After that it was just the usual Latin America speedrun: wars, dictators, more wars, CIA meddling, communist rebels, death squads.
Nobody really knows the details and nobody cares. Just assume it was a non-stop civil war for 200 years and move on.
