Laos is a left-wing tranny!

Laos, officially known as the Laowo Dictator Republic Lao People's Democratic Republic, is yet another broke ass communist SNCA in Southeast Asia. It borders Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, and China.

This country proudly holds the world record for being the most bombed place on Earth during the Cold War, and is currently the biggest Chinese debt slave in ASEAN.

Right now Laos is drowning in hyperinflation and insurmountable debt, with a 100% chance of being quietly swallowed by China in the near future.

The country is so ridiculously SNCA that Western brands completely ignore its existence. Even IShowSpeed during his Southeast Asia tour didn't bother stepping foot here probably because there's not a single KFC in the entire country or something.

History[edit | edit source]

A few hundred years ago the Kingdom of Lan Xang was founded. Then a couple centuries later it had the classic internal civil war arc and split into three separate kingdoms. Not long after that, the Siamese invaded and ruled the place for about a hundred years.

Then the French showed up, did their usual colonial division of the land, and put Laos under French rule. During World War II the Japanese briefly took over, but after the war the French came crawling back.

Enter the gigachad Prince Phetsarath a nationalist who was not a communist. He actually tried to fight the French to liberate the Kingdom of Laos. He lost, of course. But a few years later in 1953 France just gave up and granted independence anyway because they were broke and too lazy to keep managing their colonies.

Despite trying to stay neutral, Laos got dragged into the Vietnam War anyway. The Royal Lao side was backed by the United States, while the communist side was backed by the Soviets and North Vietnam. North Vietnam was also the main reason Laos became the most bombed country on Earth they built the Ho Chi Minh Trail straight through Lao territory to supply the fight against South Vietnam.

North Vietnam even sent in Kaysone Phomvihane (a guy of Vietnamese descent who was basically a North Vietnamese puppet) to help the faction of Souphanouvong (who at least had some royal blood). After they seized power from the Kingdom, Kaysone immediately betrayed Souphanouvong and took absolute control for himself.

That's why Lao banknotes only feature Kaysone's face, and why most Laotians remember Kaysone way more than Souphanouvong.

Relations with Thailand[edit | edit source]

Laos and Thailand are so culturally and linguistically similar that they can basically be considered brother nations, most young Laotians grew up cooming to Thai media, Thai dramas, and Thai TikTok, making them fully capable of speaking, reading, and understanding Thai.

Although the general population is heavily attached to Thailand, the Laotian government is a communist regime while Thailand is a monarchy. Because of this, the Lao government aggressively clings to Vietnam, China, and Russia. They constantly cope by claiming that Vietnam is their "true brother country," but this is complete bullshit. Most Laotians feel zero real connection to Vietnam — Vietnamese culture and language are completely alien to them.

Yet a non zero number of brainwashed Laotians still loyalty signal for Vietnam, even though they don't know a single word of Vietnamese and spend 24/7 obsessed with Thai internet subcultures.

Chinese and Vietnamese Influence[edit | edit source]

Since the Laotian government is utterly incompetent and can't develop shit on its own, they became the most debt-trapped Chinese puppet in ASEAN. Chinese businessmen have completely flooded the country, taking over the local economy. Chinese only shops, restaurants, and Mandarin signs are everywhere in the major cities. Laos is quite literally turning into Chinese clay.

Vietnam has a lot of influence over Laos because during the Cold War the two communist parties were allies. Lao government officials are all connected to Vietnam. The Lao government is incompetent at developing the country as usual, so they have to rely on Vietnam just like China. Many companies have Vietnamese involvement, causing Lao people's data to be stored in Vietnam.
