A flavor of the month (FOTM) is a person, meme, thing, or franchise that becomes popular among normgroids for a short period of time (eg. 2 weeks) before dropping out of popularity drastically, and having the normgroids move on to the next FOTM. The cycle then continues.

The term originated from 4cuck^{[it just is, ok?]} and was used to describe unfunny garbage that a small percentage of the userbase actually likes, and was used interchangeably between "Forced meme". Thoughbeit eventually they decided upon "FOTM" being a form of "Forced meme" that dies quicker.
