Dust is a concept in Soy culture that came far after other mineral rating terms, such as gem, coal, brimstone, iron, etc.
Dust refers to utterly soulless low-effort content, often created by the most retarded niggers that roam God's green earth, with absolutely zero effort put into it. Dust tends to collect at the bottom of /soy/, around the unchecked corners of the Soysphere, and used to collect among the brimstone of /nate/.
"Technically IAS" posts, variant:unknowns, and other shit-tier 'ru posts are common examples of dust. It often originates as a coordinated effort to flood the 'ru with said "technically allowed" borderline IAS content being poured into the 'ru in multiple extremely low-effort posts in a few different forms. This can be noticed when a variant:unknown's first appearance is seen alongside a few poorly-made edits.
Dust, unlike coal, is greatly misused in place of other terms. Things such as soyjak porn, 'p, and faggotposting, are sadly not defined as dust, and rather terms such as Brimstone or TrannyNiggerVantaBlackNiggerStone are a better fit for such content. Again, dust is low-effort, soulless, unmemorable content. NOT just things you don't like, or bad things in general.
One of the defining traits of dust is the Uncanny Valley phenomenon, when NAS approaches the twilight zone between NAS and IAS. It’s close enough to a soyjak to be allowed into the sharty, or more commonly the 'ru, but fails to even breach into the coal category due to its inability to be eye-catching in any way, even a negative one. Henceforth, it completely bastardizes what a soyjak is supposed to be, and twists it into an abstract mockery of soy culture. The fact that dust itself is common enough for there to be a dedicated term and wiki page for it shows that it is a growing epidemic within the Soysphere, one that has not been regulated properly whatsoever. The definition of dust can and will shift, likely from being low effort slop to being closer defined as spam or bait.
Searching Variant:Unknown on Soybooru produces dozens of examples of dust. This tag is a testament to the horrid management of the 'ru, and the misguided nature of its policy on "archiving", as well as to the profound mental retardation of some users.
The various Xitter wojak variants are also usually absolute dust, as Xitter is full of down syndromed faggots with a negative IQ.
Dust cannot become anything other than dust, unlike coal or even brimstone.
Dustposters[edit | edit source]
Imagine a coalposter. Now, take away all of the reason and soul left in his frail, brittle, chromosomally deficient body. Now take away 3-4 chromosomes, subtract 30 points from his IQ, and rape him 100 times. At this point, you will have created a dustposter.Dustposters are some of the lowest IQ spergs on the planet with absolutely no creative drive whatsoever. They often don't understand the process of making a 'jak, and therefore end up making things that are, as mentioned, uncanny and highly forgettable even when effort is put in.
Dustposters are often very young nusois between the ages of 10 and 14, tranny larpers, or Reddit culture vultures, who rode the popularity wave of Soyjak.Party and decided to attempt to make a variant of their own. Other times, retards intentionally create dust to bait the lower obsessed populations of nusois into giving said post reppys and, in a twist of fate, propelling said dust further. This, however, is most commonly considered coal or bait instead of dust, as a primary staple of dust is being mostly unnoticeable. Another point is that the majority of dust is created unintentionally by the aforementioned retards which further disproves the "intentional dust" theory. It is also legitimately difficult to make a post so intentionally bad that it is dust.
To prevent a dustposter's existence and furthermore prevent dust, simply bully younger users off of the site and refrain from advertising the Soysphere. Dust can also be prevented by not posting your own dust on /soy/ or the 'ru. Yes, this means (You), nusois.
Dustposters, unlike dust, can become coalposters or brimposters after a certain amount of time, but this is very rare.
