Binocularjak is a soyjak variant depicting a soyjak looking surpised while looking through a pair of binoculars.
History[edit | edit source]
Binocularjak is traced from a photo of Matthew Vickers[2], a man most notable for having his daughter get impregnated by, and then feuding with, Ethan "The Gunt" Ralph of Killstream "fame". The photo, taken from Matthew's old Facebook profile[3], was first posted in an unarchived /r/ thread, this thread isn't entirely lost as it can be partially seen when looking at the catalog through the Wayback Machine. Although this thread seemingly received no replies, it appears to have served as a source of inspiration for the variant, with SoyBooru user Entiral having uploaded the 'jak on the same day the thread was made. The general purpose of the jak itself is to depict someone who holds some sort of admiration, connection or desire to some element that is reflected onto the lens of the binoculars, implying the subject is looking at it with a soyface of delight.
