Brimstone Winter
This page is a gem.Brimstone Winter is an event lasting through January on soyjak.party, where 'teens try to create as many new soyjak variants as possible in the hopes that a gemmy variant is created. It is characterized by people spamming their variant:unknown jaks, usually brimstone, to see whether or not they stick. These jaks are lovingly referred to as brimjaks. Even though most Soyteens do not have the ability to create a variant above iron, it lets newGods get their OC shilling out of their system and encourage Soyteens to practice their jakking and editing skills. During Brimstone Winter, soyteens will often use their Brimjaks during raids.
An uncoordinated influx of new 'jaks is known as a breeding season.
Origins
In December of 2022, the Sharty was still experiencing an influx of new users which subsequently lead to a constant flow of newjaks, most of which were coal. At this time there was also a movement of older users who lamented over how there has been almost no new variants that became established as gems over the past year. This all culminated in the "Brimstone Winter" at the start of the new year. The goal of this movement was to pump out as many jaks as possible in hopes that a gem would be made. Brimstone Winter caused rage in users who did not understand what was going on, making it very controversial.[1]
Brimstone Winter 2023
Unfortunately, much of the brimstone winter generals have been lost in the in-log warehouse due to many of the threads in January and February being improperly archived. On the booru, these jaks can be found under the "varaint:unknown" tag making up posts within the late 20000s and early 30000s.
2chan Raid
On January 2, 2023, brimjakkers decided to raid 2chan. Ironically, the users of 2chan seemed to react more positively towards brimjaks than most soyteens did at the time. They even made some edits to the brimjaks being posted on 2chan. No one knew what they were saying for certain due to the language barrier. [2]
Soylady

Soylady is considered the first brimjak, being one of the few to predate 2023. It depicts an obese woman holding a bottle of Soylent. While NAS, many people enjoyed having a femjak to use.
Susjak

Susjak is based off a Jerma985 meme. Susjak acted as the flagship for the movement and to this day there is a rouge Susjak every so often on the catalog of /soy/. There was also a color version sometime called "variant:unknown"

Smugjak

A well-known jak to come out of the movement. Probably the only true success story to come out of Brimstone Winter.

Ending
After the long most of jakking and spamming, Brimjakers agreed to end the event on the last day of January and allow any successful brimjak to survive if worthy of being a gem rather than being forced.
Brimstone Winter 2024 Wave 1

Brimstone Winter 2024 began with the goal of pumping out as many jaks and edits as possible in order to create a gem. After the Soypocalypse, a large number of the members involved in Brimstone 2023 were no longer around, however, there were still many 'teens looking forward to Brimstone 2024 and posting threads in preparation. Most of the variants and edits to come out of Brimstone 2024 fall between Booru posts 60100 - 61600. Unfortunately, this event was not recorded very well at its happening, and expert soientists and archeologists have conducted research to uncover the whole truth.
Anticipation
It was initially believed that Poopson would release around this time, however, due to unforeseen circumstances it released early in the form of Brojak.
Slow Start
Due to site turbulence and a lower number of OC-producing 'teens, Brimstone Winter 2024 did not have the explosive start it had in 2023 and did not reach the same heights. Despite this, plenty of brimjakkers got to test their stuff and cook up brimeralds just as dusty (gemmy) as last year.
Raids
While not on the same scale as Brimstone Winter 2023, there were still several notable brimraids. This includes raids on 2chan, 4chan, crystal.cafe, and a few other altchans. Unfortunately like in 2023, there are not many screenshots of the raids.
Sherkjak
A jak created to be used during Brimstone Winter 2024, and nothing else. It was based on Shrek from the Shrek animated movies.
Npestajak

Npestajak was commonly spammed during Brimstone Winter 2024.
Parrotjak

ParrotJak had many split opinions on it with some claiming it to be a gem but most others claiming it was Brimstone. It fell out of use in about 2 months. It was traced from a parrotfish.
Meximutt

Meximutt while being propelled by the variant shilling trend of Brimstone Winter was also a response to the creation of Euromutt a few months earlier. While many soientists argue its relevancy to Brimstone Winter, claiming it to be purely a construct of Booru race warring, its proximity to the event and its use in Brimstone Winter 2024 gives it a strong claim to being one of the brimjaks. As of mid-2024, it is the most relevant variant to come out of Brimstone Winter 2024.
Meximutt was such obsessed brimstone that it jetpack-brapped itself from the deepest pits of niggerhell during Brimstone Winter all the way to the top of the freezing peaks of aryanheaven, permanently cementing itself as an Eternal Gemerald much like Cobson.
BrimFairy Bait
One of the largest trends during Brimstone Winter 2024 was BrimFairy Bait. Starting the prior Brimstone Winter, BrimFairies are created by flipping a jak upside-down, putting an anime face on it, and turning it into a fairy. Because of their brimstone qualities, posting them would almost guarantee replies. They were also heavily used in soyquoting at the time because no one wanted to be depicted as a BrimFairy.

Brimstone Winter 2024 Wave 2
New variant brimstones were being posted at a very low rate, until the mid portion of the Brimstone Winter, when things started moving again. This saw a resurgence in new Brimstone and new variants. They are very different from the previous wave of brimstone in look and feel.
Most of these were ugly and had little impact on the general Soyspehere, however they still made a mark regardless.
Gapealien

A Soyjak traced from an AI generated image. Some consider it a gem, some consider it forced coal, so the consensus would make it iron. Albeit, it was said have potential as it shares many traits with Swede allegedly. It was one of the more popular variants that was being posted. Most posts usually don't include the antenna.
Japeson
Main article: Japeson
A variant that is very similar to both Swede and Cobson. Used mostly along with other winter made variants, this was a popular posterboy jak for the second wave of the brimstone winter.
Jacquejak
A brimstone variant traced from a carbonation dispenser, used to make regular drinks have a caarbonated fizz to them. Very brimstone and very forced, really only used as Larry the Cucumber and Soytan of all things. Dead almost upon arrival as nobody wanted to use it as it was too sloppy and simple.
Cutejak

One of the more popular variants, was created by CobsonTALKS, and forced relentlessly. It saw probably the most variations as people tried to make it stick. It died down about midway through December though with the last one being posted at the end of December. It was the least brimstone of the bunch, however brimstone is still brimstone.
Elliot
A sub-subvariant of Euromutt as this variant is a modified version of the subvariant Euroaryan, this has little use because it's not considered a very good variant, and has limited range on creativity. It was created by a literal caca who used it to make 'jaks out of cartoon characters, youtuber OC's, and other shit nobody cares about. The only good edit of this subvariant was used to depict Moon Man.[4]
Guestjak

Based on the guest enemy from the video game Little Nightmares. Used in various forms to make fun of large fat people, although it wasn't a very popular variant and has little posts.
Waljak
Main article: Waljak
A variant that has seems a decent amount of posts compared to the other brimstone. It is considered very much a brimstone variant by most people. It started to slow down in the amount it got posted a few days before New Year's Day. Other soyjaks already fill the spot Wailjak has, so it's unlikely to live through the winter.
Alienjak

A variant that is considered to be very brimstone and ugly looking in with little use. A better variant was made using the Markiplier soyjak almost immediately and the variant died instantly. It was mainly used in SoyBooru countrywars in the very small time it was alive.
Eggerald

An almost NAS variant, traced allegedly from an egg. Little use, with it already being so poor quality. Almost zero posts, even when it was first made.
Daedulson

A Soyjak used to mock people who vape. Not used very well, and is considered a good soyjak overall. Was thought to have died but is recently reappearing with other brimjaks.
Jakub

A variant traced from the internet joke Yakub, it was made by the schlog. Considered very gemmy despite the limited amount of posts it has. It's rumored to be creator of the soy race, but this was proven false as he is not Swedish. He also may have ties to (((Them))) although this is unconfirmed.

Brimstone Winter 2025 started out with some minor brim created, and it has created The Trinity of 'Jak.[5]
Lots of NAS and furry bait to start the year, with a lot being created in the last part of the 2024 brimstone Christmas. Unfortunately Neutralplier spam has washed away a lot of the new variants and the new variant potential.

Little is known about this brimstone variant, it was a catbox file originally and posted once on the SoyBooru. A rare type of dust, it's IAS enough to catch your eye, but NAS enough to actually be a good soyjak variant.
Keyjak

Keyjak is a variant seen typing at his keyboard while looking surprised. One of the earliest brimstone variants to be created for the 2025 brimstone winter.

Insanejak is a tracejak variant that looks similar to Feraljak. he is traced from Chris Stuckmann.

Alois is a variant that is looking at (You).

Sixtiesjak is a soyjak variant traced from a frame in Ongezellig Animation - Coco & Co.'s Big Break (PARODY!)
Keggyjak
Keggyjak is a variant based of off the Dartmouth college mascot, Keggy the keg. The person who made this variant likes to say it "mogs" other variant:unknowns. Also known for being used to steal threads and bait [8]
Snarkyjak
Snarkyjak is a variant with big nostrils biting its lip. Notably, not a tracejak like most of the other variants.

Angloson is a variant meant to portray anglos. It was traced from King Henry VIII.
Sethpig
Sethpig is a variant traced from the 2026 Animal Farm movie. It was made in the same thread as Angloson.
Huesos
Huesos is a variant traced from some kind of fish being sold at a market. It was made in the same thread as some other variants.
