Trend
In 'jakking, a trend is one of two things: a specific meme or pattern of soyjak edits that can be applied to multiple variants (as opposed to subvariants which are derived from a single soyjak) or a meme that involves placing multiple soyjaks in one specific configuration, such as the classic Soyjak Trio. There are many different examples of trends, like distortion involving slopjaks and soyjaks, award spam. Usually, a trend opens up to people on the soybooru, since thats where most trends are found, although it can also happen on the sharty.
There have existed many trends throughout the course of the Sharty, and multiple conflicts have been fought over them: the First Soyvil War was, in part, an attempt to determine the rating of deformed soyjaks, and Operation Bleached Bowl occured in response to the rise of Colorjaks.
Types
[edit | edit source]There are currently two main types of trends:
Grouping trends
[edit | edit source]Grouping trends emerge when multiple soyjaks are consistently placed together in one image. The soyjaks may or may not interact in a certain way, and the variants used may or may not be rigid. Are you soying what I'm soying is an example of a grouping trend that uses Markiplier Soyjak and Wholesome Soyjak.
Styling trends
[edit | edit source]A style trend is the result of multiple soyjaks being colored or edited in the same consistent manner to depict a certain idea or creature. Squirreljak is likely the most prominent example of a style trend, and is achieved by the addition of brown fur, long ears, and a bushy tail to any soyjak.
