Soycreature is a soy animal that first appeared on /soy/ around early 2025, originating from a specific image of a Pūkeko (Porphyrio melanotus) with 2 rear legs added.

Origin

The origin of Soycreature's basis can be traced back to December 4, 2020, from a post on the /r/PicsOfUnusualBirds by /u/Intellobang, who gathered over 2,000 updoots on a post captioned, "Going through an awkward phase – juvenile Pūkeko (Australasian/purple swamphen, Porphyrio melanotus)."

First post featuring the bird, to be soon made into the soycreature.

The origins of the first soycreature are quite simple, a user on /soy/ would ask if they approved of a photoshopped version of the bird (where the 2 rear legs were added), another 'teen would 'jak the image and from there, the soycreature was born.
